Raffles Hotel, Singapore

Raffles Hotel Promenade Suites
Raffles Hotel Singapore is the flagship property of Raffles Hotels & Resorts. Opened in 1887, it is one of the few remaining great 19th century hotels in the world. No visit to Singapore is complete without a stay at Raffles; tradition demands it. A century after its opening, the hotel was declared a National Monument by the Singapore Government and today, its colonial architecture is beautifully preserved, allowing it to stand out from the contemporary style of its surrounding neighbours in the business and civic district. Over the years, some of the most famous personalities have walked through the ornate wrought-iron portico. Somerset Maugham, Rudyard Kipling and Michael Jackson are among those who have succumbed to the charms of the Raffles. Today, nothing much has changed with esteemed guests such as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, George Bush, Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Louboutin still choosing to put up at the hotel. Restored in 1991 to the style to which it was once accustomed, Raffles is set in lush tropical gardens and has 103 opulent suites each with its own spacious parlour, bedroom and luxurious dressing area. There are plenty of places to eat and drink including the legendary ‘Long Bar’ – home to the Singapore Sling and the Tiffin Room where traditional afternoon tea can be enjoyed. A rooftop swimming pool in a lush garden setting provides yet another excuse for decadent relaxation. Read More...

Raffles Hotel Le Royal

Raffles Hotel Le Royal Poolside Terrace
The grand and historic Raffles Hotel Le Royal is the premier address in Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh. Not only is it an authentic luxury Art Deco hotel but it is also a true colonial classic, deep in the heart of this riverside city. An imposing statement of Khmer, Art Deco and French Colonial style, Hotel Le Royal originally opened its grand doors in 1929. It reopened as Raffles Hotel Le Royal in 1997 after a sensitive extension and refurbishment. To protect this piece of Cambodia’s heritage, local artisans were commissioned to recreate painted ceilings, decorative beaten copper crests and outdoor sculptures. Raffles Hotel Le Royal is built around a central private courtyard, with two swimming pools fringed by Frangipani-lined tropical gardens. Raffles is very much part of the history of Phnom Penh. It has stood for 90 years and its walls reflect many of the times it has witnessed, yet while it honours its past, the hotel embraces the city’s dynamic future, continuing to be a focal point of the capital’s business and social scene.
