Zimbabwe Itineraries
Overview

Zimbabwe has some of the most renowned safari and tourism hot spots in Africa. Home to multiple UNESCO World Heritage Sites including: Victoria Falls, Mana Pools, the Matopos National Parks and the ruins of Great Zimbabwe. With improved economic stability in recent years due to the hard work of a few dedicated Zimbabweans, savvy travellers are beginning to flock back to Zimbabwe, returning with great reviews.
Located in southern Africa, Zimbabwe, a landlocked country, shares its borders with South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique. It is a truly stunning country with a variety of diverse environments perfect for exploring. The beautiful Eastern Highlands run down the border with Mozambique, this area contains a rich diversity of terrain: ranging from grassy hills, to rainforest filled valleys and drier woodland at higher altitudes. The mighty Zambezi river is 4th largest in the continent and forms earths greatest curtain of falling water where it marvellously plunges over the Victoria Falls in the north-west corner of the country.
Lake Kariba, formed from the Zambezi River, can be experienced aboard houseboats, where visitors can cruise along the shoreline on the hunt for the hard fighting tiger fish, or game viewing into Matusadona National Park from the deck. On the Lower Zambezi, Mana Pools National Park is a famous safari destination, a must see for any avid safari-goer and often considered as the number one walking safari destination in Africa. The largest national park, Hwange National Park, hosts the largest elephant population in Africa, combined with over 100 mammal and 400 bird species. Gonarezhou (also a national park) is found on the southern border with Mozambique, and is one of the most unspoilt, beautiful parks in Southern Africa.
