Hungary Itineraries
Overview

Hungary was a part of one of the most impressive empires in European history that spanned until the early 20th Century, imposing a significant impact upon the continent’s history and yet this country at the centre of middle Europe is very unique. The Hungarian language is entirely different to all other surrounding countries in the region, and draws it’s uniqueness due to Turkish, Slavic, Magyar and Roman influences. If Hungarian is compared to other languages, it shares the most similarities with Finnish.
The local people of Hungary refer to themselves as Magyars; they take great pride in their ability to think with great individuality that can clearly be seen in the charming, vivid and undeniably quirky city of Budapest tucked on the banks of the Danube. Hungarian cuisine is famous for being diverse and rich in flavour, specialities including traditional goulash and other hearty stews. Hungary is also famous for producing some fantastic red and white wines, however the local Hungarian desert wine, Tokai is the most renowned from it’s selection.
