Switzerland Itineraries
Overview

Switzerland, a mountainous and landlocked country in Central Europe is surrounded by 5 countries: Austria and Liechtenstein to the east, France to the west, Italy to the south and Germany to the north. This country is home to some of the worlds greatest ski slopes and mountain peaks and many luxurious Swiss resorts, from famous Zermatt under the towering Matterhorn, to elegant St Moritz on the edge of a frozen lake, to Champery in the centre of the Alps.
When you think of Switzerland you usually think about a world-class ski destination, chocolate box villages and soaring mountains peaks. Zermatt, located in the shadow of Matterhorn, is a charming town boasting a skyline covered by 38 peaks over 4000 metres, which offers the highest peak in Europe at 3800 metres. Zermatt has a river running through it and is completely car free, therefore horse-drawn sleighs are a favourite mode of transport among visitors.
Zürich is the Capital of Switzerland and is truly a culturally vibrant metropolis, set beautifully at the intersection between a river and lake. This wonderful city is consistently voted as one of the world’s most liveable cities. Zürich has a famous reputation as a shrewd, hard-working financial centre, however recently Switzerland’s wealthiest city has also developed into one of the hippest destinations in central Europe.
Champery, found in the centre of the Alps, links up with the well known Portes du Soleil ski area and the famous villages of Champery, Avoriaz, Les Gets, Morzine and Champoussin, together contributing more than 650km of pistes and links. St Moritz gives off a sense of chic, offering glitz and glamour in a stunning location on the shoreline of the notorious frozen lake and overlooking the Engadin Mountains.
