Bhutan Itineraries
Overview

Bhutan is a mysterious country and one of the last true unspoilt countries on earth. With its misty mountains, turquoise rivers, whispering forests and sweeping plateaus, this Buddhist kingdom remains one of the world’s most mysterious and alluring countries. Tucked away between Tibet and India in the eastern Himalayas, this Himalayan Kingdom is packed with stunning natural beauty, from lush-green rice paddies running alongside fast-flowing glacial rivers, to endless forested-mountains and the snow-capped peaks beyond. Isolated from the rest of the world for centuries, Bhutan has preserved its Buddhist culture and traditional lifestyle and a luxury holiday to Bhutan offers glimpse into its age-old Buddhist culture, dramatic medieval monasteries, stunning architecture and lush landscapes, all in close proximity to the many exclusive luxury boutique hotels throughout the country.
Bhutan has spell-binding rural scenery, from lush green terraced rice-paddies rolling up to high sacred mountain passes with Buddhist prayers fluttering in the wind, to the snow-capped mountains above. The mountainous terrain not only offers epic ancient hiking trails, but mind-blowing scenery, whilst ancient monasteries give spiritual insight into Bhutan’s past. Thimpu, Paro and Punakha are three of Bhutan’s most thriving towns and cities, and are the must-sees as you wind your path through the country. 10 kilometres outside of Paro is the famous Taktshang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery. It lies on the face of a sheer 1000 metre cliff, and legend has it that the father of Bhutanese Buddhism, Guru Rinpoche, landed there on the back of a tigress.
Bhutan is nothing short of remarkable and guarantees a travelling experience that is the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of the modern world and will be deeply memorable. The people of Bhutan are warm, charming and welcome visitors to discover their traditional way of life. We adore Bhutan for the sheer romance of the country – it really is an ideal honeymoon destination. Whatever you are searching for -adventure, culture, or a spiritual sojourn – Bhutan promises memories to last a lifetime.
