India Itineraries
Overview

India…Nowhere else quite comes close to it. A country by name, but a continent in scale, India in one word is – diversity. Pretty much indisputably the most vibrant country on Earth, India can conjure up a multitude of conflicting emotions during any stay. As a result, it’s not everybody’s cup of chai, but those who fall for the subcontinent fall hard, and become lifelong devotees. Extending from the Himalayas deep into the Indian Ocean you’d be hard pushed to find a more culturally and geographically diverse country. Think deserts, beautiful beaches, and spectacular mountain ranges. This Asian gem is literally a continent in its own right, constantly pulling you back in but never leaving you disappointed.
India cannot be easily described or summed up. It’s a beautiful mix of people and places, a patchwork quilt of a thousand polarised traditions and cultures brought together into one colourful expression. From the Himalaya in the North to the tip of Kanyakumari in the South, India offers spectacular natural beauty in every shape and form which ensures that a luxury holiday to India is something you will not forget. Its north is banded by the peaks of the Himalaya, where you can ride a classic Royal Enfield Bullet motorbike through the lush valleys of Manali and the sun-soaked hills of Ladakh. It is in the North that India’s long history comes alive with the buildings that remain, from colonial or Mughal in the capital Delhi, where you can soak up the pulsating energy of its sounds, sights, aromas and curries, the amazing Taj Mahal in Agra, to the forts and palaces of historic Rajasthan. Known as the Land of the Kings, Rajasthan is a microcosm of India with its forts, palaces and temples, its bustling markets and camel festivals and opportunities to spot the elusive tiger.
Home to some of India’s most beautiful parks including Kanha National Park and Pench National Park, Central India is perfect for off the beaten path safaris and to explore the rural heartland of India from luxury lodges and tented camps. In India’s northeast corner, Calcutta still exudes its colonial heritage in a landscape clothed with tea plantations. In Assam, partake in an elephant back safari to see the unique Asiatic one horned Rhino at Kaziranga National Park. West coast Mumbai is an improbable proposition – a hub of manufacturing where you can wander among art deco architecture or through a teeming bazaar. Goa is known for its world class beaches, laid back vibe and some of the best cuisine in India. Down in India’s south, cruising Kerala’s tranquil backwaters on a converted rice barge is a suitably relaxed way to embrace this region’s laid-back approach to life.
A world of elephants and tigers, turmeric-coloured villages, historic temples, incredible architecture, coconut-studded coastlines, fiery cuisine and dazzling cities – India’s magic will never cease to amaze you. Whether you are searching for your perfect honeymoon, wanting an in-depth luxury cultural tour, taking an epic atmospheric train journey or a family wanting to give your children their first taste of the exotic on a family adventure, our India specialists will tailor a private tour that is just right for you.
