Badenhorst, already well-known as chef-patron of Le coin Français in the heart of the Franschhoek valley, steers an accomplished culinary team to serve French-inspired dishes made from local produce, honouring Franschhoek’s history with both the name and concept of this unique dining experience. Set among the vineyards, Leeu Spa is a wellness sanctuary that offers authentic massages and holistic treatments by expert therapists. The tasting room wine studio offers an immersive wine experience by an exceptional tasting room staff who guide guests in the finer nuances of these premium handcrafted wines.
The spacious rooms and suites, which are individually styled and luxuriously appointed, feature bespoke furniture, wool-and-sisal carpets, and textured layers of linen, horsehair, leather, wood and stone in a calm colour palette. The rooms all have underfloor heating. The generous marble-clad en-suite bathrooms have rain showers and heated towel rails as standard. Deluxe Room
An average size of 55m²/592ft², these rooms are situated in The Manor House, Cellar Cottage and Vineyard Cottage, and offer various views, from the manicured gardens and vineyards to the Franschhoek mountains and village.

Classic Room
An average size of 42m²/452ft², these rooms are situated in The Manor House and Max House, and offer various views, from the manicured gardens to the farm dam, orchards, vineyards, dramatic mountain backdrops and the village of Franschhoek. The rooms feature king-size beds (one can be converted into twin beds), a writing desk area, a sitting area and generous wardrobe space.

Studio Room
These rooms, each with its own terrace and fireplace, are on average 63m²/678ft² and are situated in The Manor House and above Leeu Spa, with easy access to the spa facility, gym and pool; and Pomegranate Cottage. They all offer views of the manicured gardens, vineyards and mountains.

Executive Suite
An average size of 97m²/1 044ft², each spacious suite has its own separate lounge area and fireplace. Situated in The Manor House, Max House and Terroir Cottage, they offer various views, from the manicured gardens and vineyards to mountain backdrops.


Executive Suite With Terrace
An average size of 94m²/1 011ft², each spacious suite has its own separate lounge area. Situated in Cellar Cottage and The Manor House, they offer various views, from the manicured gardens to mountains and vineyards.

Cellar Cottage
A size of 354m²/3 810ft² and housed in the original cellar, this heritage building enjoys views of the manicured gardens and vineyards. It comprises an Executive Suite with Terrace and a Deluxe Room, two terraces leading off the living room which has a fireplace, a pantry and access to a private garden with a lawn. Children can be accommodated on a sofa bed in the lounge.

Vineyard Cottage
A size of 164m²/1 765ft², Vineyard Cottage offers easy access to Leeu Spa & Gym with its 15-metre swimming pool. The cottage, which affords views of the manicured vineyards, landscaped gardens and a mountain backdrop, comprises two Deluxe Rooms and a shared lounge. A magnificent terrace overlooks the vineyards.

Max House
A size of 419m²/4 510ft² and surrounded by vineyards, Max House is housed in an original gabled building that reflects its Cape Dutch heritage. It has a courtyard with a private garden and comprises an Executive Suite, two Classic Rooms, a living room with a fireplace and a dining room. A pantry and a kitchen are available for the use of a private chef, which can be arranged.

The Manor House
The elegant, spacious rooms and suites are either located at the refurbished 19th-century Manor House or around the estate amongst gardens, oak trees and vineyards. Each of the 20 individually styled rooms and suites are relaxed and elegant. The dark grey metal and glass windows allow for sweeping views across the valley. Under the original pitched Cape farmhouse roofline, a series of sumptuous common areas boast high ceilings clad in tongue-and-groove timber and wood-burning fireplaces with custom fireplace surrounds. The smoked, solid oak timber floor offsets the handmade rugs from Tibet. The bespoke furniture in materials such as shagreen, vellum, bronze and exotic wood finishes adds texture and interest. The colour palette of chocolate, taupe, smokey blues and greys creates a sense of luxurious calm enhanced by soft lighting emanating from the hand-forged chandeliers and a pair of mid-century Lucite table lamps. Contemporary art and objects hand-picked from the owner’s personal collection contribute to the eclectic styling that runs throughout the house.

Indaba The Meeting Room
Indaba – The Meeting Place at Leeu Estates is a state-of-the-art multipurpose event and meeting venue. The light-filled space, with its open roof trusses, tall windows, timber floors and natural finishes, perfectly complements the collection of art and sculptures by artists such as Deborah Bell and Stanislaw Trzebinski, among others. Indaba, which is 140 square metres (1 510 square feet) in size and has an elevator, is equipped with audio and video conferencing facilities, a 203.30-centimetre (80-inch) television screen and uncapped high-speed Wi-Fi. Indaba can accommodate up to 50 guests both inside and on the terrace overlooking the beautiful valley and mountain landscape. The well-appointed venue can host various events, from cocktails, high teas, private parties, exhibitions, product launches, press briefings and seminars, to business meetings and think tank sessions for up to 30 people.

The Wine Studio on Leeu Estates offers a truly immersive wine experience. The tasting room is run by the Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines team, whose knowledgeable tasting room staff will guide guests in the finer nuances of these premium handcrafted wines. There are three tutored tasting options to choose from (booking advised): Signature (one complimentary tasting per Leeu Collection guest per stay), Single Terroir and Leeu Passant. In addition to wine tastings, the elegant tasting venue can be reserved for exclusive private functions, catered for by Leeu Estates’ culinary team.
