ACTIVITIES:
With its church a national monument, “Pueblo los Domínicos”, resembles a typical Chilean town. Visitors will delight in the wide variety of local handicrafts, antiques, sculpture and foods available.
We invite you to discover the city of Santiago and visit its main tourist attractions. On the central avenue of Alameda, you can appreciate the Presidential Palace, La Moneda a neoclassical building and its surroundings of old government buildings.
Going south of Santiago and still in the metropolitan region, we will find The Maipo Valley, an area with the most fertile and best microclimates in Central Chile for the production of superb wines. The Maipo Valley is located just beside the Maipo River and has beautiful natural surroundings inhabited by farmers that work the land using ancient techniques.
The visit starts at Don Melchor Square, where you are going to be welcomed by a bilingual guide who will invite you to enjoy a panoramic view of Vineyard Pirque.Visitors walk around the ancient park, going back in time while they appreciate the original winery house dating for more than a century, which use to be the residence of the Concha y Toro family. Here was born more than 100 years ago the largest wine company in Chile.
We will leave Santiago towards the Andes driving through a gorge at the mountains foot hills to later climb up through a road with more than 40 curves till we arrive to Farellones, La Parve and El Colorado.
Located 80 kilometers from Santiago, the Casablanca Valley offers a panoramic view of some of this country finest and best vineyard with its beautiful surroundings. This excellent location has a moderate climate because of the pacific coast winds.
As we leave Santiago and go west across route 68 we are going to pass the second most important mountain range in Chile, the “Cordillera de la Costa”. Route 68 is the highway that connects the capital Metropolitan Region to Valparaiso, Chile’s most important port and Viña del Mar, probably the best resort city in central Chile. Along this route we are going to cross the valleys of Curacavi and Casablanca, probably the most important on quality white wines production in the country.
Valparaíso, immortalized in the words of Pablo Neruda, is one of South America’s most charismatic and historic ports, with its charming ascensores (funicular railways) and colorful hillside constructions.
Located mostly in the center of the country, the Chilean vineyards have gained worldwide fame and prestige for the quality and variety of their wines. Along the wine country route, visit vineyards such as Concha y Toro, vineyard Errázuriz, Cousiño Macul and vineyard Undurraga, to mention a few. The exceptional climate and terrain of the valleys of Santiago, Aconcagua and Cachapoal allow for a great variety of large and small vineyards that produce prestigious wines for export.
A glacially sculpted valley just southeast of Santiago, Cajon del Maipo makes an excellent day or weekend trip. Whitewater rafting, hiking, and horseback riding are among the activities offered in Santiago’s backyard getaway.
On arriving at El Colorado ski area you will find magnificent ski terrain, remarkable snow conditions and pleasant outdoor temperatures. These conditions are due to a combination of the altitude and latitude which generate excellent powder snow and sunny days. It is not uncommon to have up to 17 feet of snowfall during the ski season.
Metropolitan Park, the Green Garden of Santiago, comprises 1,784 acres and a Zoo, and is the biggest urban park in Chile. Funicular and cable carts ride to the top of the San Cristobal Hill offering great views of Santiago. The Park’s mission is to improve citizens’ lives by preserving an amazing natural environment enhanced by touches of art, culture and sports.
The Portillo ski resort is like a cruise ship nestled in the magnificent Andean peaks. With no neighboring towns, Portillo is a totally self-contained mecca for skiing or snowboarding, socializing and relaxing, in a natural environment that is nothing less than spectacular.
Valle Nevado lies at an altitude of 10,000 feet, amidst incredibly breathtaking landscapes in the Andes Mountains. With an abundance of sun and quality snow, it is the largest skiable acreage in the Southern Hemisphere. Perfect for snowboarding too.

Antarctica21 offers boutique wilderness adventures in Antarctica and the sub Antarctic islands; Falklands, South Georgia & Cape Horn. Our Antarctica air cruises & sea voyages are operated with luxury small expedition ships that offer a wide range of experiences ashore. We feature 6 bespoke itineraries that you can choose from for your Antarctic adventure. We pioneered the air cruise to Antarctica (between Punta Arenas, the main urban centre of Chilean Patagonia, & the Antarctic Station President Eduardo Frei Montalva) and understand all the complexities of ensuring a smooth, safe, enjoyable adventure. Our team has completed many Antarctica air cruises, and we know the region intimately and love sharing our expertise with guests. What’s more, this destination is our backyard; our company was founded in Punta Arenas Chile, the traditional gateway for the first Antarctic explorers, and it remains an ideal base of operations today.
Our fleet includes 3 luxury boutique expedition ships: the Magellan Explorer, Ocean Nova & Hebridean Sky. We use 3 similar aircraft for flight operations: the BAE 146-200, AVRO RJ 85, and AVRO RJ 100. Our air cruise takes you over the Drake Passage avoiding the discomfort of a rough sea crossing. You reach Antarctica in 2 hours, rather than 2 days, and are quickly immersed in the beauty of the White Continent. Our small expedition vessels are more like private yachts, offering direct access to areas along the Antarctic shore that larger ships simply can’t reach. We have fewer guests, so you get on and off faster, and your time ashore is focused where it should be: savoring every moment of a bucket list travel experience.
