The generous living and dining room with double sided fireplace, as well as a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, make entertaining with family and friends a pleasure, while a private butler service is available to anticipate and accommodate every need.
The resort expects children to adjust to an adult environment, out of respect for the privacy and enjoyment of all other guests. The smalls are welcome to eat in both restaurants, where à la carte options and the special children’s menu should tempt, although dinner at the Wolgan Dining Room and Valley Bar must be taken between 6pm and 7.30pm if you have kids under eight in tow. After 7.30pm you’ll need to order room service back at your suite (extra charges apply), or book a babysitter if the adults in your party plan on eating at the main restaurant. That said, there’s flexibility to arrange early meals prior to 6pm at the more informal Country Kitchen restaurant, open from 6am until 6pm. Child-pleasing dishes such as pizza, pasta, burgers and ploughman’s platters should keep hunger at bay.

The Valley Bar & Terrace Lounge offers an expansive veranda to enjoy during the warmer months, or an open fireplace indoors when the weather turns cooler. At any time of the day or year, panoramic views across the valley frame the vibrant hues of the seasons, encouraging guests to sit back, rest and contemplate the spectacular surroundings. Showcasing over 150 different wines with an eclectic selection of Australian and international labels.
Deckchairs and cabanas surround the kidney-shaped infinity pool. There are mountain bikes (to suit all ages) outside every cabin, guided nature walks, horse riding, an archery range, a tennis court, hosted wildlife safaris and stargazing tours. The spa uses Sodashi products and offers a wide range of treatments; the Thermal Infusing Facial is both regenerating to the skin and calming to the nerves. Service is professional and attentive, without being wooden or impersonal. The bartender, who whips up a mean Amaretto Sour, is also a deft conversationalist, and you may find staff lingering beside tables over dinner getting to know guests better.
Every suite comes with its own pool and while there is no separate kids’ pool, the main swimming area does have a child-friendly shallow end. Bring your own inflatables though, and be responsible for your own supervision; there’s no lifeguard.
