Created with a deep respect for its heritage, August is a modern-day sanctuary, echoing the sacred soul of historical Belgian architecture whilst adding a contemporary modernism, ready for tomorrow. The former convent encapsulates 44 rooms and suites, ranging between 16 and 41 square meters. All feature a double bed, flat-screen television, air-conditioning, laptop safe, fully-stocked minibar, wireless speaker, Egyptian percale bed linen, en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower (some with stand-alone bathtub) and Bamford’s toiletries. The rooms are a warm homage to the dedicated way of former Augustinian life, with the addition of all modern amenities. Bespoke finishing is to be found in every element; from the hand glazed bathroom tiles to the tailor-made iconic lighting, from custom built furniture to the handwoven carpets.

Wind down at the stunning August Bar. Upon entering the pristinely restored turn-of-the-century chapel, you are surrounded by an abundance of light, warm materials and a dedicated team. Enjoy our selection of natural wines, fine champagne, smart spirits, savoury bar food and our interpretations of classic cocktails. The menu at the August Bar and Restaurant is curated by well-known chef Nick Bril of two Michelin Star restaurant – The Jane. Nick has introduced an inspired à la carte menu focusing on product, season and terroir. The August Spa is the perfect place to recover from a long day exploring Antwerp or to pamper yourself with a relaxing break. The dedicated wellness area invites guests to warm up in the sauna and hammam. Cool down again with a fresh ice scrub, in the outdoor shower on the adjacent ‘Cour Anglaise’ or in the outdoor swimming pond.
