At certain times of the year guests may actually enjoy the breathtaking spectacle of the water visibly rising around the camp’s raised teak decks. Experience magnificent game sightings during drives as well as the unique experience of exploring the delta’s beautiful waterways by boat. Besides eight luxury-style tents there is also a Sleep Out Deck that offers guests the opportunity to spend the night under the splendid African night sky.

Situated in the Kanana Concession, the focus of activities at Kanana varies with the rising and falling levels of the Okavango Delta. Activities include morning and late afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles, with afternoon game drives often continuing into the evening. Alternatively you may explore the crystal clear waterways by Mokoro or motorboat, and enjoy the magnificent variety of birds, plant and reptile species found in the area.

Family Tents

Guests are accommodated in a spacious, safari tent consisting of two bedrooms, shared en-suite bathroom with shower, hot and cold running water and flush toilet. The tents are well spaced, affording privacy whilst remaining within comfortable distance from the main camp area. Roomy enough to sleep a maximum of 5 people. Kanana takes children from the age of 7 years old.

Starbed

Gaze at the glittering stars from your the private sleep out deck, Kanana’s sleep out tree house is the best way to experience the vast African night sky. It overlooks a waterhole that is home to hippo, crocodile, and varied bird life during the annual rains. In the dry season, once the water recedes, the plains host a variety of game day and night.

The dining and sitting areas are raised on decking encircling a massive ancient fig tree. The food home cooking with delicious salads and plentiful vegetables. A well stocked bar ensures a cocktail is always close at hand.

Bush Dinner

Kanana Camp has its own air-strip very close to camp making transfers much easier. There is a lovely bar and welcoming dining area where you can eat some deliciously freshly prepared meals. There is also a swimming pool which is always enticing as a way to cool down in between safaris. The camp also has a well stocked curio shop.
