Overseas Chinese Town East

Overseas Chinese Town East (OCT East) is a large ecological resort brimming with natural landscapes, small towns of Western and Oriental styles, and entertainment facilities. It has three themed parks: Knight Valley, Tea Stream Valley, and Wind Valley. You can also pay respects to Buddhist statues at Huaxing Temple.



Dameisha Beach

Dameisha Beach is located at Mirs Bay, in the east of Shenzhen. It is the longest beach in Shenzhen with a length of 1,800 meters. Dameisha Beach Park was built to meet the area’s recreational needs. Visitors can swim or take a motorboat ride in the ocean, enjoy the sunshine, drive a vehicle or ride a horse along the beach, hold a seaside barbecue or simply take a seaside stroll there.



Xiaomeisha Beach

Located in the east of Shenzhen, Xiaomeisha Beach is 28 km from the city center and 4 km from Dameisha Beach. Known as the ‘Oriental Hawaii’, the crescent-shaped Xiaomeisha Beach is surrounded by mountains on three sides. Here you can enjoy all kinds of water activities like swimming, surfing and diving. The nearby Xiaomeisha Sea World also attracts many visitors.



Fairy Lake Botanical Garden

Situated in the east suburbs of Shenzhen, Fairy Lake Botanical Garden leans against Phoenix Tree Mountain which is the highest peak in Shenzhen. It covers an area of 588 ha (2.27 sq mi). Established in 1983, this is a multifunctional botanical garden integrating scientific research, plant species collections and displays as well as tourism. A plant sample exhibition hall displaying over 70,000 samples is established there to better develop the botanical garden.


Guanlan Lake Tourist Resort

Located in the northern suburbs of Shenzhen, Guanlan Lake Tourist Resort is famous as a comprehensive leisure space with an area of 2,000 hectares. Here you can play golf at the world’s largest golf club, experience exciting archery and shooting games, and enjoy luxurious spa treatments.



Shenzhen Happy Valley

Shenzhen Museum

The Shenzhen Museum broke ground in February 1984, opened in November 1988 and now houses more than 35,000 pieces. The New Shenzhen Museum, the country’s first museum featuring the history of reform and ‘opening up’ policies, opened on 25 December 2008 in the east wing of the Civic Center. With a floor space of more than 30,000 sq m, the new museum also displays examples of ancient local relics and folk customs.



Shenzhen Concert Hall

Located in the central area of Futian District, the Shenzhen Concert Hall covers a surface area of 26,345 sq m and a total area of 41,423 sq m. The building is the work of internationally-renowned Japanese avant-garde architect Arata Isozaki. The concert hall is a modern architectural work specifically designed for musical performances.



Museum of Contemporary Art & Planning Exhibition

The Museum of Contemporary Art & Planning Exhibition (MOCAPE) is part of the master plan for the Futian Cultural District, the new urban center of Shenzhen. The project combines two independent yet structurally unified institutions, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and the Planning Exhibition (PE), as a cultural meeting point and a venue for architectural exhibitions.



Sea World Culture and Arts Center

The Sea World Culture and Arts Center is the first building by Maki and Associates in China. Designed in 2011, it is a large design museum jointly established by the British National Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) and China Merchants Group Ltd, and operated by the integrated innovative cultural design platform Design Society. The Arts Center has two main galleries for large-scale temporary exhibitions: the V&A Gallery and the Main Gallery, bringing world-class design-centered galleries to Shenzhen along with exhibits on other topics, restaurants, shopping, public event spaces and a rooftop garden.
