ACTIVITIES:
Visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep which stands 1,053 meters (3,456 feet) above sea level. This is the most important temple in Chiang Mai and has expansive views over the city. Climb the 300 stairs flanked on each side of the ‘naga’ (mythical serpent, or ride in a tram to reach the temple which has beautifully decorated buildings as well as a museum and a Lanna-style Chedi covered with engraved and gilded plates flanked by four ornamental umbrellas.
Chiang Mai has developed a strong biking culture and its flat terrain lends itself to exploring the city by bike. On this private half day bike tour you will explore small streets and lanes inside the walls of the ancient walled city moat. During this leisurely tour you will learn about the long history and rich culture of Chiang Mai as you visit four significant temples and culminate in the Somphet market where you can sample local fruits and snacks. Dining at 137 Pillars House is a picturesque affair with each venue being stunningly situated either on the veranda, around the infinity pool, in the lush tropical grounds, or in the beautifully decorated dining rooms. Cuisine includes gourmet and fragrant Thai dishes, full of heady spices coupled with fantastic modern European menus. Being so close to the centre of all the action in Chiang Mai, it means you are ideally located to explore the second biggest city in Thailand. Warmly welcoming guests back each evening after days exploring the ancient sites, guests can take advantage of the tranquil 25-metre swimming pool set alongside a beautiful garden wall. The Dining Room
For breakfast- lunch and dinner- The Dining Room adjacent to Pillars House is a stylish yet comfortable environment to savor our favorite recipes prepared with fresh organic ingredients. Diverse and accommodating menus offer classic Thai fare meant to be shared and seasonally inspired international dishes- all showcasing the distinctive harvests of local farmers. Go al fresco on the adjacent courtyard surrounded by our tropical gardens.

Palette Restaurant
A delight to the senses- where guests can enjoy exquisite cuisine in an intimate setting as well as displaying engaging Nouveau Asian Art exhibits. Palette is located in the hotel original teak homestead which dates back to the 1800. The restaurant seats up to 20 diners. An additional 16 diners can be accommodated in the intimate Wine Cellar and private open air verandah. The restaurant can also be booked exclusively for private functions and special occasions.

Jack Bain Bar
Jack Bains Scottish ancestry- Jack and his family were the last inhabitants of the house. Enjoy crafted Colonial and Asian inspired cocktails- premium whiskey- sabered champagne and bespoke spirits. Enjoy this wonderful atmosphere reminiscent of the golden era of Gentlemens Clubs.

Private Dining
In the spirit of the Orient enjoy our house Chai Dim Tea Selection paired with savory and sweet delights in the old house or in the tropical gardens. Enjoy delights from all our menus in the privacy of your suite presented “à la minute”.
The 25-metre long pool, set against a huge wall overgrown with vines, is lovely. The spa has just three rooms, one for couples, and a steam room. A small library provides literary distraction and the gym is well-equipped. The hotel’s boutique sells an intriguing selection of items sourced locally and supports several philanthropic projects.

Pool
Go for a few laps in our shimmering 25×5.5-metre pool or relax in one of our sun loungers. Refreshments are available by the poolside together with a choice of any menu items from our restaurants. Complimentary homemade sorbet, cool mineral water and cold towels are served by our attentive staff to help you take the edge off the northern Thailand’s steamy hot season.

Spa
Thais learn the art of massage from a young age. When it came to providing these services to our guests, we knew just what to do. We endured the necessary kneading to carefully select our top-notch team of professionally trained therapists and created a non-clinical spa to pamper our guests in holistic pleasures. Our tightly edited menu of massage and spa treatments features classical and current Asian methods from Aromatherapy to Thai Massage and Yoga.
