Expect delectable cuisine, spacious rooms in the main building and in annexes, together with a pampering spa. Grand Barrail Château Hotel’s 41 rooms and five suites are decorated in neutral or pale shades with abundant use of designer fabrics, creating a stylish and warm feel. Look out of the windows onto delightful gardens with manicured lawns, a large pond and a pool, all of which are surrounded by terrace upon terrace of bushy green vines that extend for miles around.
Grand Barrail Château’s most majestic rooms are reserved for the restaurant that has three separate dining areas. Choose between the Baroque magnificence of Salon Mauresque with its stained-glass windows, red marble pillars, gilding and oriental-style paintings; the more intimate Salle Ronde with its elegant chandeliers or the terrace overlooking the gardens. Our 5-star hotel offers sumptuous guest rooms, split between the château and its smaller guest buildings and a gourmet restaurant serving mouthwatering food and fine wines.
Split between the château and its outbuildings, the rooms make the most of uninterrupted views over the château’s seven-acre estate. Measuring 323 square feet, Superior rooms feature bold, yet tasteful, decoration, with curtains and sofas upholstered in wool tartan, plus views over the extensive vineyards. Adjoining rooms for family stays are also available. Deluxe rooms are a fusion of modern trends, period styles and Blanc d’Ivoire elements and are housed in the main Château, La Maison du Vignoble (which boasts breathtaking panoramic views) and La Maison du Bien-Etre spa complex – perfect for recharging your batteries.With their Gustave III-style woodwork and unobstructed views over the park and vineyard, Executive rooms are set at the heart of the Château. The decoration and furniture is mostly by well-known manufacturers, such as Pierre Frey, Mise en Demeure and Prés de Brou.
Superior Room
Our Superior Room is tastefully decorated with wool window coverings and an upholstered sofa. Facing over the extensive vineyards, guests will find this room quite spacious with its 30m². Adjoining rooms are available for family or groups staying together in La Residence.
Deluxe Room
The Deluxe Room is a blend of period style, modern interior decoration trends and Blanc d’Ivoire elements. These Rooms measure approximately 34m², and include a king-size bed or twin beds. Guests who choose Deluxe Room accommodation will stay in La Residence, the Vineyard House or the Wellness House. Depending on location, these rooms overlook the gardens or the vineyards. For guests staying with friends or family, four duplex-style units are available.
Executive Room
Our king or twin bedded Junior Suite are individually decorated with either a terrace or a balcony. All equipped with bathroom, tub and shower.Air conditioning, cable TV, DVD player, minibar, safe, hairdryer and wireless internet access. Overlooking on the vineyard and gardens. 35 Square metres.
Duplex Suite
Our Duplex Suites are spacious (measuring approximately 70m²) and comfortable. The suite includes a king-size bed on the mezzanine and a lounge area with a sofa bed. Our Duplex offers two bathrooms, very convenient for the privacy of all the occupants.
Junior Suite
The Junior Suite is a charming and elegant setting for your stay. It fits perfectly into the ambiance of the elegant castle. Guests will have plenty of space in the 58m² suite, and the 6-10m² terrace provides excellent views of the vineyards.
Royal Suite
Every inch of the Royal Suite whispers refinement, with its fine furnishings. Measuring a full 60m², the space includes a seating area, a huge canopy bed with golden hangings and a living room. The Royal Suite offers a terrace (35m²) facing over the park and the vineyards.
Château Grand Barrail Hotel houses a gourmet restaurant run by Chef Romain Gondras and offers creative cuisine with a curated selection of local fine wines from Bordeaux. The hotel has three separate dining rooms, with elegant design – think Viollet Leduc-style paintings and imposing chandeliers – and a hotel bar for relaxed drinks.
Mauresque Dining Room
The Mauresque Dining Room was originally constructed in 1902 and continues to keep its luxury ambiance today. The combination of its stunning stained glass windows, antique style mouldings and Viollet Leduc-style paintings give all who step into it the feeling of going back into a more elegant time.
Grand Salon Dining Room
The Château Grand Barrail’s restaurant provides a gourmet dining experience at affordable prices. The Grand Salon’s elegant atmosphere can welcome 40 diners inside and another 40 on the terrace.
Rotonde Breakfast Room
Extensive renovation are carried out work to restore the Rotonde breakfast room to its original state. The results are truly a sight to behold; the dining room’s mirrors and spectacular chandeliers, were inspired by the Petit Trianon Palace. The room is finished with a combination of matte (flat) paint and shiny finishes to create a harmonious look in our luxury hotel.
Bar
The Lounge bar’s bright and elegant atmosphere is available to hotel guests and local clientele alike. Stop by to enjoy some quiet contemplation on your own or time with friends in the bar’s intimate atmosphere. Browse the menu of refreshing cocktails and fine wines. The Lounge’s comfortable armchairs and sofas await your pleasure.
Smokehouse
The Smokehouse is our Hotel’s cigar bar and is decorated in an English Gentleman’s Club style. This space, with its leather sofa, armchairs and coffee table, is available for private functions and we will be happy to help you make all the necessary arrangements. You and your friends are also welcome to peruse the selection of cigars, and enjoy the books, play cards or board games or watch the Smokehouse’s flat screen TV.
The Spa is open to local clientele as well as our valued guests, and offers a number of beauty treatments. After your spa experience, we invite you to unwind in the humid-zone rest area which offers a tea station. The fitness center is open 24 hours a day for your convenience. The pool is located in the park, slightly away from the Hotel, to create a tranquil space to enjoy the water.
