Hotel Crillon le Brave has 28 double bedrooms with a choice of three categories dependent on their size and outlooks. The rooms either have a view of the nearby Mont Ventoux or the Rhone Valley. There are seven good-sized suites, the junior suite includes a second smaller bedroom which is perfect for families. The suites are larger than the rooms and each has a terrace with outstanding views. The rooms feature all the expected facilities and are very comfortable. The hotel has a marvellous restaurant which offers locally-sourced, fresh produce to its diners. Their main focus is on quality and freshness to produce the most delicious dishes and wine. Fine local wines are served in the restaurant such as Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The restaurant is a renovated goat’s stable, this combined with its elegant décor gives it a sophisticated rustic feel. Breakfast on the terrace is a fantastic way to start your day, especially if you time it to watch the sun rise.
La Table Du Ventoux
Inspired by the market itself, he makes a point of choosing his own ingredients over deliveries. Vegetables, truffles, olive oil and lamb all have their place on the menu but he admits to a particular fondness for scallops and game. His signature dish, courgette flower stuffed with lobster, appears every season as does his chocolate and pistachio hot marble soufflé dessert. Savour them in the beautiful 18th-century vaulted room or on the large terrace overlooking Mont Ventoux.
Deliberately locavore, the concept for Bistrot centres around regional ingredients.The restaurant is housed in the former Maison Reboul with a terrace overlooking the Cour du Puits. Every season, the menu showcases the region’s classics, selected from farmers’ markets using a list of hand-picked addresses. Must-try offerings include Mazan poultry, Isle-sur-la-Sorgue trout, Ventoux pork, Provence lamb, Sault small spelt risotto, Mormoiron asparagus, Hôtel-Dieu market truffles from Carpentras, Jacquemin goats’ cheese, heirloom tomatoes, pistou soup, home-made olive tapeade, strawberry tart and more. Most of the Herbes de Provence are grown in the herb garden just above the swimming pool. As fresh as they come!
The early evening is one of the best time to enjoy the view over Mont Ventoux. Sit down for a drink or two and enjoy the sunset.
