PROPERTY HIGHLIGHTS:
- In a bucolic setting, in the middle of the vineyards of the Coteaux Varois, the Hostellerie de l’Abbaye de la Celle welcomes you for an unforgettable and refined experience. To extend your immersion in Provence the restaurant, awarded with a Michelin star, offers you a sincere cuisine inspired by the region’s terroir and vegetables from the garden.
- This Alain Ducasse-owned hotel is a bolthole for bon vivants, placing a heavy emphasis on gastronomy. But beyond its Michelin-starred restaurant, the winning recipe continues thanks to the hotel’s historic charm, understated elegance and rural Provençal setting.
- The hotel sits on the ‘Route des Vins’ – a scenic journey that joins the dots between 430 vineyards – and is well placed for hiking and biking excursions.
- While all 10 rooms are unique, they are bound together by the same regard for quality, evident in everything from the beds to the antique furniture.
- As you’d expect from a chef-owned hotel, Hostellerie de L’Abbaye’s trump card is its gastronomy. Before you acquaint yourself with the terrific cuisine, have an aperitif on the verandah, if it’s sunny, or the lounge, if it’s not. The restaurant’s menu changes daily, but is unwavering in its support for local produce; in fact many ingredients are from the hotel’s garden.
- The sun lounge, a picture of panache with its wooden floors, leather chairs and cosy bar, overlooks a manicured garden sheltered by chestnut trees.
- Heated outdoor pool. The hotel has its own vineyard, producing 3,000 bottles a year (tastings can be arranged), as well as a ‘live museum’ dedicated to the vines of Coteaux Varois. There’s also a quiet room in which massages are available.

Alain Ducasse took over the property in 1999 and renovated it in 2011, with the decorator Tonia Peyrot, emphasizing the abbey’s personality and history.
