Bonjour Madame et Monsieur! Chef Jörg Mergner and the team of Palais Bistro welcome you with an authentic bistro kitchen, offering a range of German-French cuisine in a charming Francophile ambience. First-class creations such as our Steak tartare, Burgundy escargots and classic Truffle tarte flambé or Quiche Lorraine make the culinary journey through France a pure culinary delight. For a fine dessert, we recommend Crêpes Suzette, which are freshly prepared for you directly at the table and served with sour-cream ice cream. In addition to our seasonal menu, we also offer a changing four-course menu for EUR 49 per person. Let us surprise you. Palais Bistro – the ideal place in the heart of Dresden for a dinner for two, a quick bistro lunch at lunchtime or an evening with friends. And from April we welcome you again on our summer terrace in front of the residence castle. Bienvenue!

Kastenmeiers Fish Restaurant
The fish restaurant Kastenmeiers welcomes you daily from 17:00 on the premises in the Taschenbergpalais. The offer of the gourmet chef Gerd Kastenmeier is captivating, with seasonal ingredients from the region and the best quality of refined fish dishes. An exquisite selection of wines rounds off the pleasure. Kastenmeiers offers all guests 140 seats and measures almost 500 sq m, including a sushi and oyster bar, a smoker’s lounge and the open-floor-plan kitchen. There are also 120 outdoor seats in the picturesque inner courtyard of the Taschenbergpalais. The newly created extensive breakfast buffet awaits our hotel guests in the barrier-free restaurant and offers many regional and culinary delicacies.

Café Vestibül
The Café Vestibül invites you to relax in front of the magnificent baroque staircase, which was designed and constructed by Zwinger architect Pöppelmann. Enjoy selected coffee and tea specialities, and exquisite cakes and pastries from the in-house patisserie, as well as small seasonal dishes, such as our new Taschenbergpalais Bowls or a creamy carrot sweet potato soup with ginger, while chatting with friends, as a couple or business partners. The picturesque courtyard of the Taschenbergpalais awaits you during the summer months for cosy hours with refreshing drinks and our own lemonade in various flavours.

Karl May Bar
Inspired by the famous New York Oak Room, the classically exclusive ambience of the Karl May Bar with Bordeaux red leather and fine oak is reminiscent of the metropolises of the world. In addition to 200 award-winning cocktails, the Karl May Bar also offers a remarkable selection of over 100 different types of whisk(e)y in a relaxed, elegant atmosphere.
While you are enjoying self-created cocktails and light snacks, live international artists provide musical entertainment every Friday and Saturday from 21:00. During the summer months, you can round off the evening on the terrace in the inner courtyard of the Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden. Do not miss our cocktail Happy Hour – every day from 18:00 to 20:00. Four-legged friends are warmly welcomed in the Karl May Bar.
By the way, bar chef Niko Pavlidis was named Barkeeper of the Year in 2008 and Saxon Cocktail Champion in 2012 due to his mixing skills. Sushi & Oyster Bar
Small, fine and very special: With the only sushi and oyster bar in Dresden, a real gourmet island opens up, not only for Japanese delicacy lovers. Indulge your senses with a variety of noble delicacies directly at the Taschenbergpalais. Right next to the main entrance of the Kastenmeiers, the team of Japanese sushi cook Takamitsu ‘Taka’ Hanawa and bartender ‘Mo’ Manapori from Australia welcome you. Whether rock oysters or flat oysters, whether from Brittany, Ireland, Russia or Sylt – at least three different varieties of fine seafood are always in the house. Sushi master ‘Taka’ prepares unusual sushi creations fresh in front of the guests’ eyes, but also popular classics such as maki, inside-outs and nigiri.
In addition to culinary delights, ‘Mo’, the good soul of the small bar, conjures up international cocktails and surprises in particular with his own creations. If you think Champagne Taittinger is the right choice for oysters and the like, then the entire range of the traditional French brand is available for selection and is preferably served in magnum bottles.
