First we take you to Shau Kei Wan, rich with scenery and history, and home to Hong Kong’s largest outdoor food market. Then we hop on a ferry to Lei Yue Mun for stops at authentic street food stalls and a meal at the Michelin Guide’s most remote eatery, famous for its fish noodle soup. This walk is ideal for those who want to experience an out-of-the-ordinary tour as well as keen photographers.

Bespoke Art Walks

At the very heart of Hong Kong, hidden within our majestic skyscrapers and bustling streets, is a fascinating and dynamic art scene. We work with established artists and feature art year-round, including some permanent pieces in our hotel. Our Bespoke Art Walks, carefully curated and led by art connoisseurs, take you off the beaten track into the core of the city’s creativity. Whether a novice or an art expert, you’ll be inspired and fascinated by these inspiring and thought-provoking journeys.

Enlightened Walks

There’s no better way to explore a city than through the perceptive and knowledgeable insights of one of its long-term residents. The knowledgeable filmmaker David Attali has lived in Hong Kong for 20 years, and will be delighted to tailor-make an experience to your specific interests. David can conduct the tours in either English or French. Whether you’re curious about traditional or pop culture, local cuisine or local medicine, the Cantonese language or Chinese characters, David will mix enlightening facts and figures, trivia and treats in a hugely entertaining hour or more, as he takes you on an insider tour of any
destination of interest within Hong Kong. Hidden gems you would never find out about travelling solo provide fascinating observations into the lives of Hong Kong’s seven million inhabitants.

Hong Kong Food Walks

With a choice of ten restaurants and bars, you can experience the best cuisine in Hong Kong right here at Mandarin Oriental, but the city is also home to some of the most exciting local dining experiences in the world. Join a renowned local food writer who will guide you on a walking feast, taking in the very best of the city’s foodie treats while sharing their passion and expertise in local cuisine. With thousands of Chinese restaurants, noodle shops and outdoor food stalls, Hong Kong’s streets are filled with the aromas of delicate wontons, handcrafted noodles, succulent roasts, creamy milk teas, fluffy buns and much more. Whether you are a keen foodie or a culinary professional, this delicious, customised program begins in the hotel’s lobby.

Hike & Deserted Beaches
This guided journey ventures to the beautifully rural Sai Kung peninsula, often recognised as the “Back Garden of Hong Kong”. Guests will hike along the undulating mountain paths with spectacular views of the ocean as the backdrop, and explore several white sandy beaches.

Junk Boat Trip
A junk boat trip is undeniably a quintessential Hong Kong experience. The word “junk” traditionally referred to a Chinese wooden sailboat dating back to the Han Dynasty, and today is used to describe any Hong Kong boat charter, including ones fully-loaded with all the modern luxuries. Guests will board the junk boat surrounded by the city’s skyscrapers before heading to some of the island’s most beautiful beaches. Be it an indulgent weekend day junk trip or a glamorous night-time cocktail party, there are a variety of experiences to choose from.
