ACTIVITIES:
Shimla is the capital of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, in the Himalayan foothills. Once the summer capital of British India, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Kalka-Shimla Railway, completed in 1903. It’s also known for the handicraft shops that line The Mall, a pedestrian avenue, as well as the Lakkar Bazaar, a market specializing in wooden toys and crafts.
The farm, located 25km away from the Resort lets you pick your own food as well as taste the produce. Depending on the time of the year, guests can pluck Strawberries, harvest lilies or stake Tomatoes and be a farmer for a little while. Follow through the farm visit, visit to Theog Palace.
Hatu peak, located at an elevation of 3400 m / 12000 ft above sea level and is the highest summit in Shimla / Narkanda region of Himachal Pradesh. The peak is surrounded by dense forests of fir and spruce, with a smattering of maple, aspen and cedar trees. Hatu is located 40km from the Resort.
This short walk starts from the resort and loops back through the pine forest below the resort. Enjoy the lovely views and visit a small temple. A naturalist will familiarise you with the local Flora and Fauna as you spot rare bird species along the way.
Mountains are made for walking! We have a whole range of walks lined up for guest – from short easy strolls to day long treks – guest can choose the one that works best for them and their companions.

Hill stations are always earned, as they have been right since the good old school summers. In Himachal Pradesh, otherwise known as Devbhumi, the Land of the Gods, a beautiful hill state in northern India framed by the western Himalayas, hill stations are benchmarks. And on the national highway No 5, often a photographer’s muse.As you leave Shimla behind, the capital city of Himachal and once upon a time, the summer capital of British India and wind your way past Kufri & Fagu, you get to Theog. A charming town of five ‘ghats’ (or ridges), Rahi Ghat, Deori Ghat, Prem Ghat, Janoghat and Bagaghat, the air here is crisp with oxygen. Just 75 min from Shimla and yet a world in hiding.

Bountiful as they come and making each of the 99 rooms and suites a vantage perch that warms your cockles.
Guest rooms will provide guests with a desk and an electric tea pot.

Theog Junction, The Gastro Pub
Did it move?! Well had it been on levelled ground and on wheels, one would be excused for mistaking this to be a vintage railway saloon car. An imaginative tribute to the classic narrow-gauge toy train that since 1903, even to this day, chugs from Kalka to Shimla, through dramatic views of the hills and charming hamlets. A 96 Kms journey through 102 tunnels, today this route is a UNESCO World heritage site.

Peony
Nippy climes call for steaming hot oriental pots, fulsome dim-sums, hand rolled noodles, delicate meats and the subtle flavours of the East. All of which find a stately residence at Peony the oriental restaurant, which takes after the eponymous flower. The Peony in Chinese philosophy is the flower of prosperity and honour, with no less than Confucius himself, quoted as saying, “I eat nothing without its sauce.” With celebration menus, classics from Beijing and the Sichuan province and an enviable range of wines and spirits, Peony with its dramatic ceramic wall cladding, dark oak flooring, amber glass lamps and delicately embroidered sheer curtains, is great for a cosy two-some or a warm family huddle.

Tragopan
Holding centre-court amongst the dining experiences, is Tragopan, the All-Day Diner. Inspired by the western Tragopan, the rarest of all living pheasants, called Jujurana or the “King of Birds” in the Kullu district, the restaurant serves an enviable selection of Pahari Cuisine, known for its robust spices and flavours aside from mainstream classics for the global palette and a range of comfort food. As bright and feather worthy as the state bird. Remember to round off the meal with the Cinnamon Apple Strudel, that does ample justice, or should we say apple justice.
The property has an indoor pool, a garden and rooms with garden views. The rooms at the hotel have air conditioning, a TV with satellite channels, DVD-Player, and a private bathroom with a shower, a hair dryer and free toiletries. Guest rooms will provide guests with a desk and an electric tea pot.
