- Bawah is a sensational barefoot, back-to-nature private island eco-resort, set in a previously uninhabited marine conservation zone across five, lush, forest-canopied islands, three sheltered lagoons and 13 beaches. It has the same lo-fi-luxury feel as Bali but the joy here is that you don’t have to share the sand with the crowds.
- Bawah Reserve, with its luxe Robinson Crusoe exclusivity in the middle of Indonesia’s Anambas archipelago, is the best honeymoon destination for newlyweds in search of privacy, untouched nature and the best that barefoot luxury has to offer.
- There are 35 villas (overwater bungalows, beachfront villas and garden suites) made by hand from natural materials such as bamboo, driftwood and recycled teak, with beautiful recycled copper sinks and showers in the bathrooms. The 11 stunning and romantic overwater bungalows have steps that lead directly into the ocean. They offer complete privacy and uninterrupted views from your balcony to the horizon and idyllic ocean all around you.
- Enjoy the leisurely pace of island life here, as well as the many activities and water sports on offer. Start your morning with pilates and yoga classes before casting away on kayaks, paddleboards and boat trips to explore nearby islands. Laze or indulge in a romantic picnic on any of the resort’s 13 secluded beaches or explore untouched hinterlands through long walking trails. Enjoy a romantic sunset cruise for two.
- With water sports included in your stay, many guests make it a daily ritual to kayak around the island. A favourite time is at daybreak when the stunning pink sunrise hits the tips of the coral just below the water’s edge. Mornings are also the best chance to see Bawah’s turtles and other marine life.
- Bawah knows how to make an entrance. Guests enjoy an arrival via an 80-minute journey in our amphibious seaplane with unparalleled views of the South China Sea from Singapore. The resort will arrange the pickup from your Singapore hotel and VIP seaplane transfer.

Based on your experience, desires and surrounding water currents, a number of dive sites and experiences will be offered. We have a registered Bawah Dive Centre managed by Orca Nation. It’s also a major workout – every muscle in your body is at work as you ride over waves and work the long-handled paddle. We will whisk you away on a short boat trip for a secluded spa experience on one of our islands across the lagoon. After your treatment, maintain the zen with a cup of tea and gourmet snacks and explore the rest of the island before heading back to your suite.
