The Sanchaya is a beautiful resort on the island of Bintan, Indonesia. Under an hour away from Singapore by ferry, guests can be on the white pristine beach relaxing in no time. And with just 13 villas and 17 stylish suites, the service is second to none. The Sanchaya is an oasis of calm, just 50-minutes away from the buzzing lights of Singapore. With just 13 villas and 17 suites in the main building, spend time soaking up the relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the white sandy beach and surrounding rich landscape. Situated on Lagoi Bay, The Sanchaya is split into twenty one spacious villas and the Great House, made up of nine beautifully decorated suites. One and two-bedroom villas dot the resort, splashes of colour and dark wooden floors blending seamlessly to the white wash theme.
There is also a four-bedroom presidential villa for groups, perfect for a special occasion. Whilst staying at The Sanchaya, guests can lounge on the beach in one of the comfortable cabanas, waited on by the bar staff who can prepare drinks and light bites throughout the day. Elsewhere, the Tanasee Grill is a great spot to enjoy some poolside dining. It’s al fresco setting works well with its European all-day dining menu. In the evening, the restaurant transforms itself into a more formal dining setting, featuring a delicious and fresh Thai street food.
There are a number of different room types, ranging from entry-level Thai villas tucked away in the gardens to sophisticated sea view suites in the main building to the grand four-bedroom Vanda Villa, with its rambling gardens and swimming pool. All are tastefully decorated with black and white panel work, parquet floors, crisp linens and vases of snowy orchids. Bathrooms have claw tubs and herbal salts, while the technical offerings include iPads and Apple TVs.

One Bedroom Villa

Leelawadee
Escape the worries of the world and get comfortable with family and friends in the Thai-inspired haven of serenity named after the Thai flower Leelawadee. The private compound’s three spacious one-bedroom villas are set around a tranquil private pool and outdoor seating and dining area perfect for a bespoke BBQ prepared by a private chef and waiter. Vanda Villa
A sublime two-storey beachfront villa with a sprawling balcony and a private infinity pool, epitomizes luxury at its most luxurious. The Great House Junior Suite Garden View
Situated on the upper floor of The Sanchaya’s majestic grand manor The Great House, the junior suites feature terraces opening up to manicured lawns. Lawan thai Villa
The masterfully designed Lawan Village’s seven one-bedroom villas each feature a balcony protruding over the reedy banks of The Sanchaya’s serene lagoon, lending themselves to a delectable in-villa dining experience. Melt away any worries of the world in the private Lefroy Brooks soaking tub amid the hypnotic, encaustic tiled bathroom opening up to a private electric green backyard.
Dining at The Sanchaya includes an all-day dining option which serves an international mix of cuisine. Enjoy an a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Elsewhere the Tasanee Grill serves up typical and delicious Thai street food you’d expect to find in Bangkok. With its beach side setting, Tasanee Grill also serves afternoon tea, for a relaxing brew. The Salon and Library is open for lunch and dinner and serves as the hotel’s fine dining restaurant. Located in the Great House, enjoy a selection of fine wines and cigars here. Finally, The Bar offers cocktails and beverages which can be served to you throughout the day.

Tasanee Grill
This Al fresco Thai Grill will delight the most discerning taste buds, with its menu inspired by Bangkok’s vibrant street food scene, perfectly positioned beside the 50-metre infinity pool.

The Dining Room
Amid a home-style setting featuring french doors, rattan chairs and linen curtains, with sweeping picturesque views of the 50metre infinity pool and ocean. The Dining Room serves contemporary European and Indonesian delicacies for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

On site, there is an Olympic size pool for some laps complete with sunken daybeds which are right in the water by the shallow ledge. There is also a boutique that stocks rare designer-worthy clothing, bathing suits and other accessories where you can buy some of the items you will see across the hotel. They also sell apparel from the S’YA Collection, especially designed for The Sanchaya by the owner.

The Balinese inspired Spa is a great place to get truly pampered. They have a large selection of oils from The Kawasaki Way you can choose from and outdoor bales to completely relax in during a reflexology session.

The Salon and Library
if all you want is to feel like a wealthy person in his or her own colonial mansion, nothing will give you that feeling more profoundly than the handsome Salon and Library. Completely decorated with Southeast Asian antiques and Natalya’s private book collection around a huge cage chandelier and two large chesterfields. The library is an Eden of peace and grown-up entertainment. Compete in a game of chest, read one of the classics, marvel at the beautiful photography coffee table books or get lost is the pages of many a fascinating book. When you sit in the cocoon armchairs you are in a different world, miles away from Bintan.
