ACTIVITIES:
Home to the famous Palio di Siena, piazza del Campo is one of the landmarks of the Tuscan city and only a 3-minute walk from the Grand Hotel Continental. Built in the early 1300s as a gathering place for merchants, it was the only space in Siena where, during the holidays, games or other important events could accommodate the entire city’s population. Piazza del Campo has looked the same since the end of the 1300s, when it transitioned from commercial site to tourist spot.
Not far from the Grand Hotel Continental, in the centre of piazza del Campo and flanked by the Torre del Mangia, Palazzo Pubblico hosted the seat of Sienese government for more than 700 years.
An easy walk from the Grand Hotel Continental, the cathedral is a masterpiece of Romanesque-Gothic style and an essential stop during your stay in Siena.

Housed in the 16th-century Palazzo Gori Pannilini, the Grand Hotel Continental Siena is a boutique property full of history, boasting unique frescoes, period decorations and Renaissance architecture. Guests can also choose to dine in the Lounge Bar by Sapordivino, located in the palazzo’s tranquil courtyard, or simply enjoy an aperitif or cocktail.
The decoration of the rooms and suites at the Grand Hotel Continental Siena has been inspired by the 16th-century history of the building, incorporating traditional terracotta floors, exposed beam ceilings and beautiful frescoes.
