Built in 1815, Villa Cima is the only one located on the banks of the lake, a few steps from the Cardinal’s Building. Built nothing less than by Caroline of Brunswick, Princess of Wales and future Queen of England, to host the Count and the Countess Pino, former owners of Villa d’Este, offers a view of the lake that will remain an indelible memory in your remembrance.

Built in 1860, Villa Malakoff stands on a small hill within the grounds of Villa d’Este, a few steps from the Cardinal Building and the Lake. The Villa owes its name to the fortress near Sevastopol, conquered by the French general MacMahon. But only the name: the stay at Villa Malakoff is in fact an experience of total relaxation and comfort, a gift to be done to yourself at least once in life.

The Villa Garrovo was built in 1833 and recently completely renovated. Located in the park of the Hotel, a few steps from the Cardinal building, has views on the lake and the gardens. While respecting the elegant atmosphere of Villa d’Este, the Villa Garrovo has a current design with light paint shades. Formerly known as “Chalet Suisse”, in keeping with 19th-century style and fashion, it soon became the Villa that all the VIPs had to visit. After a complete re-installation and renovation of its rooms, in 2015 it was renamed Villa Garrovo, like the stream that flows into the lake.

A stone’s throw from the Cardinal Building, in the most spectacular spot of the Villa d’Este grounds, within the iconic mosaic garden and its Nymphaeum, stands the Mosaic House; it is accessed through a private courtyard. Not only does it owe its name to the splendid, neighboring, Mosaico di Giocondo Albertolli and to the decorations of the famous Nymphaeum, but it is itself a “mosaic”, elegant and refined, which will welcome you in its magical world for an unforgettable stay.

The main restaurant of the Hotel, located at the Cardinal Building, where buffet breakfast is served. It’s refined, elegant and offers a magnificent view of the gardens; the lake and the large windows accentuate the impression of being immersed in the park. During the warm season, weather permitting, the beautiful terrace is available for lunches and dinners pieds dans l’eau. Men are required to wear a jacket and tie for dinner.

This bar is located by the floating pool and is open during the warmest months from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. Perfect for light lunch or a snack while sipping one of our cocktails. While enjoying the sun and the enchanting scenery of Lake Como, Sundeck Bar is at your disposal to cheer your palate, through selected cocktails and less demanding dishes, but always prepared with the best raw materials and an unmistakable touch, that of the Villa d’Este style.

You can visit the Canova Bar for a coffee, an afternoon tea, an aperitif or a cocktail. A menu is also available for light lunches or snacks. Open every day, from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm. In the evening, starting from 7.30 pm, you will be gladded by the piano music. The elegant, sumptuous and enveloping interiors make Bar Canova an exclusive place for meeting and relaxing at any time of the day. There’s a floating pool on the lake and a children’s outdoor swimming pool, a putting green and a kids’ club in high.

Designed according to the principles of Zen philosophy, the Villa d’Este Beauty Center features an artful blend of light, color and water that creates the perfect setting for serenity and relaxation. Choose from a wide variety of services, including a complete selection of facial and body treatments, massages, mani/pedis and waxing. The exclusive Villa d’Este beauty product line is used for all face and body treatments and is available for purchase at the Beauty Center boutique. Connected to the Beauty Center via an underground passage, the hotel’s world-class Sporting Center includes an indoor pool, fully-equipped gym, sauna and Turkish bath.

Equipped with the most modern gear, the fitness gym is located inside the Sporting Club and it is open from 7.00 to 20.00, every day. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Tennis is at home in Villa d’Este. The 8 tennis courts (6 clay courts) are located inside the park and are open from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. Guests who do not have the equipment can rent rackets directly on site.

Villa d’Este Golf Club. Owned by the Hotel until the late ’70s, the Golf Villa d’Este is located 7 miles (12 kilometers) from the hotel, near the lake of Montorfano. Designed in 1926 by architect Peter Gannon, it is located at a height of about 400 meters, surrounded by chestnut, birch and pine woods, in a scenario reminiscent of Scotland. The 18-hole course is considered one of the most challenging and difficult “par 69” in Europe. Every year it hosts many international competitions. The Club House offers a lovely view of the lake.
