ACTIVITIES:
Set out in an open 4×4 safari vehicle in the company of your guide in search of the incredible wildlife in the Masai Mara.The professionally trained guides will ask you about your favorite wildlife and will do their best to ensure that your preferences are met, whether it is tracking a particular species or spending more time enjoying each sighting, getting to know the habits of the animals. They will also tell you about the vegetation of the region and will explain the behavior of the animals that you come across. In some cases, the guides will be able to identify individual animals and let you know about their history and habits. If the Great Migration is passing through the area, your guide will attempt to catch up with it and spend some time in the midst of the massed herds.
Enjoy sundowner cocktails at a breathtaking location on the famous Oloololo Escarpment. Watch as the sun sinks over a spectacular classical safari landscape from a vantage point that commands views over the entire Masai Mara.

Guests will be guided through the village by an English-speaking Maasai, who lives in the village. He will introduce your guests to the authentic, daily hustle and bustle of Maasai living. Guests will also have the opportunity to browse through the Maasai Craft Centre and purchase artefacts and souvenirs, which are made in the village — all proceeds are given back to the community.
Make the most the incredible scenery and views at andBeyond Bateleur Camp by enjoying a guided walk. There are three walking routes to choose from, each exploring different areas and lasting approximately two hours. The Kichwa Nature Trail winds through riverine forest and follows the perimeter of Sabaringo Creek, home to fantastic birdlife. The Mara Hippo Trail offers an exciting opportunity to explore the wilderness on foot, through the plains, riverine forest, savannah grasslands and bush land surrounding the camp and on to the Mara River. The Oloololo Escarpment Trail leads from the camp to the top of the escarpment and boasts breathtaking views of the Mara reserve, the Mara river and riverine forest.
The andBeyond Kichwa Tembo concession is the only place where guests can experience night game drives in the Masai Mara. As the sun sinks over the vast horizon, the African bush comes to life with predators and other nocturnal creatures. Guests may have the opportunity to observe fascinating species not normally encountered in daylight.
Tall Maasai warriors in traditional dress form a guard of honour as guests arrive. Deep, haunting voice burst into song and soon the ground reverberates to the rhythm of their athletic traditional dances as the Maasai leap higher and higher, seeking to outperform each other.
A fantastic alternative to the traditional game viewing experience, guests have the unforgettable opportunity to explore the vast, game-rich plains of the iconic Masai Mara on horseback. Suitable for novice (a basic level of riding ability is required) and experienced equestrians, this 2-hour activity allows guests to get up-close to plains game, on well-schooled horses. The rides take place either in the morning or afternoon, and guests are equipped with boots, helmets and half chaps to ensure a safe and comfortable experience. The Ride Mara Stables is centrally located for easy access from the Naibosho, Olare Orok and Mara North Conservancies, including the Masai Mara Reserve.

Steeped in the aura of classical safari, andBeyond Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp boasts 12 classic tents and 28 superior tents. Set into the dense vegetation that surrounds the Sabaringo River, the classic tents reflect the spirit of explorers of old. Comfortable interiors offer a traditional tented safari experience while secluded private verandas offer a shady spot to while the afternoon away. The generously sized swimming pool is set among the trees and surrounded by lush lawns and spectacular views. Opening up onto incredible Masai Mara views, the guest areas feature cosy split-level spaces decorates in a palette of stone and taupe. Celebrating the romance and nostalgia of the Mara, a double-storey bar and lounge area feature oversized windows with spectacular panoramas. The split-level dining area has been designed around an interactive kitchen and vegetable garden, making food an integral part of the safari experience.
Kichwa Tembo camp has 40 very comfortable tented rooms. There are 12 luxury tents, and 28 of the superior tents. All the tents are classically appointed and of high comfort to give you an excellent night’s sleep. The tents have views of the surrounding area so much so that you may find animals just metres away from you – a thrilling experience. The luxury tents are set in the forest and are traditional in style, with canvas walls and stone bathrooms. The superior tents are set either on stilts or right on the edge of the savannah (these Mara view tents have an additional premium attached) and are spacious and modern in their design, with beautiful decks and lots of thoughtful comforts to keep you comfortable. We highly recommend the superior tents which offer a really luxurious base for your safari.

Classic Tent(s)
The classic tent is positioned to offer mottled shade from the camp’s surrounding forest (perfect for biding enthusiasts) and provides limited views of the Sabaringo River. They are set away from the main guest areas and afford additional privacy.

Superior Tent(s)
Recently rebuilt, the superior tents are separated into eight superior view tents and 20 superior tents. The larger and more spacious superior tents feature beautiful Maasai-inspired interiors that showcase a simple and contemporary use of local materials. Oversized beds are perfectly positioned to make the most of the views, while stained cypress wood furniture combine with tribal decorative elements. Indulge in beautifully roomy ensuite bathrooms and private verandas with comfortable day beds.The 20 superior tents offer either slightly interrupted views of the Masai Mara, glimpses of the Masai Mara through the shade of the forest (excellent for bird lovers) or picturesque scenes of a nearby escarpment.

Family Tent
andBeyond Kichwa Tembo is perfect for families and groups who want to enjoy the magnificence of this destination. It has three family tents that comprise of two interconnected tents with an ensuite bathroom, a private veranda and can accommodate two adults and two children (three at special request).
Enjoy delicious Pan-African cuisine served alfresco with lovely views of the surrounding area or in the main dining area of Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp.
Private dining and romantic candlelit bush banquets can also be arranged on request.

Bush Breakfast
