Karen Blixen Museum is a national museum in Kenya situated about 19 kilometres from Nairobi City centre. It was built in 1912, and was home to the iconic Danish author of ‘Out of Africa’ (won an Oscar Award)-Karen Blixen. This famous author, artist and poet lived here while setting up her coffee farm at the foot of the Ngong Hills.

Hemingways suite (Presidential suite)
This generous suite is 240m² and includes a beautifully appointed living room, study, dining room, guest WC and private kitchen with butler access. The living room and dining room open to a large connected terrace. The master bedroom has a very spacious en-suite bathroom featuring a walk-in closet, standalone bath, shower and WC, and a separate terrace looking out over the rolling lawns and Ngong Hills.
Barry Tonks, head chef at Hemingway’s Nairobi, has aspirations of running the first Michelin-starred establishment in Nairobi. His earlier career, in London, saw him involved in restaurants highly decorated with stars and AA rosettes. Great care is taken on sourcing of ingredients and Tonks has spent a good deal of time visiting his suppliers around the country. Most of the vegetables served are grown on Hemingway’s farms in the Great Rift Valley, and the cattle has carefully monitored feed to ensure only the best steaks make it on to your plate.

Hemingways Nairobi Brasserie
With a Hollywood themed décor and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Brasserie offers a wide choice of international dishes with modern European and South Asian flavours.There is an option for indoor and outdoor setting by the fountain.

Hemingways Bar
The décor is intimate yet upmarket with a feel of the private gent’s club; leather Chesterfield sofas on fine Italian marble in front of the fireplace all under the eye of the master barmen. As if that wasn’t enough one can sit back and relax on the bar terrace and take in the views of the Ngong Hills while savoring that Single Malt and a cigar. Lighter, modern flavors characterize our fashionable cocktail menu as we pair fresh exotic flavors with soaring spirits and our wine cellar offers a selection of 50 bins from across the globe.
If you prefer to relax at the hotel, the heated outdoor swimming pool is perfect for a few lengths, and the team of therapists are at hand to perform a range of treatments in one of the four treatment rooms.
