ACTIVITIES:
Morning and afternoon drives will be available in not only the Naboisho Conservancy but also the Maasai Mara National Reserve! Both these areas contain a wealth of wildlife. The conservancy covers well over 20,000 hectares of rippling plains, wooded valleys, and water sources, and it’s home to lion, leopard, elephant, giraffe, zebra, antelopes, Nile crocodile, and hippo. The Maasai Mara itself boasts all Big Five, and the added attraction of the wildebeest Great Migration from July to October every year. There’s plenty of birdlife too!
Safarists will also enjoy night drives, within Naboisho. Species to look out for include civet cat, white-tailed mongoose, and the prickly porcupine!
Every guest stay at the camp will help Great Plains to support over five hundred families in the Maasai community. You’ll be able to visit one such community, to find out all about its members’ ways of life.
This activity will incur an additional cost, but we reckon it’ll be well worth it! We’ve long been fans of balloon rides over the Maasai Mara. You’ll rise just before dawn and enjoy spectacular sights of the region’s sprawling plains and its inhabitants, before descending to a delicious bush breakfast. A real treat!
