The Eastern and Oriental Express offers guests four categories of elegant private cabins: Pullman Single, Pullman, State Cabin and Presidential Cabin. Most offer twin-sharing accommodation; all are fully air-conditioned with en-suite shower and toilet. Cherry wood and elm burr panelling provide the backdrop for decorative marquetry friezes and intricate design inlays that enhance the fine fabrics and carpets. There are international electric sockets (220 volts) and 110 volt adapter for razors in all cabins.

The Dining Car
You are assured of excellent Eastern and European cuisine in the dining cars, sitting at tables for 2 or 4 people in surroundings lavishly decorated with rosewood and elm panelling. Lunch and dinner are served in the restaurants whilst breakfast is served in your suite. Afternoon tea can be taken wherever you would like.

The Bar Car
Cocktails, aperitifs and liqueurs are available in the fully-stocked international bar on the Eastern & Oriental Express, accompanied every evening by music from the resident pianist as well as local entertainment. The bar is open throughout the day and late into the night.
A fitting start to your adventure, our signature cocktails evoke scenes along the way. Why not head to the Bar Car for a creamy Coconut Plantation, refreshing Mist over Rice Paddies or brightly-coloured Malay Jungle.


The Observation Car
This car offers you a truly unobstructed view of the scenery around you, with an open observation deck. Its interior section is the perfect place to enjoy cocktails amidst a colonial ‘veranda’ ambiance with its teak wood flooring, panelled walls, rattan furniture and potted plants. Part of the Observation Car is an outdoor observation area decorated with teak wood. It is the highlight of any train and is the perfect place to watch the exquisite scenery drift by as you sip a cocktail in the evening, tea in the afternoon or that early morning tea/coffee as the sun is rising.
