The Boatshed is perfectly situated above a sun-drenched bay on the island of Waiheke, off the coast of Auckland. This luxury boutique, seaside hotel is inspired by the early 1900 boat sheds that scatter the country’s shores. The Boatshed offers five luxury suites and two beach bungalows, each individual in design and style with panoramic views over the ocean. Together they form an eclectic mix of different spaces and room types each offering a unique and different experience from the three-storey Lighthouse.
Whatever you choose, the rooms here are relaxed, beautifully appointed and very stylish. Dining is a relaxed affair indulge in a memorable Mediterranean feast, something hearty in front of the fire or a private seafood platter for two on the balcony. Whichever you choose, expect fine hospitality and exceptional service. Waiheke Island invites you to rediscover the simple pleasures. Take a stroll amongst an eclectic mix of award-winning vineyards, sophisticated alfresco restaurants, artists’ studios and galleries or along one of the many deserted, golden, sandy beaches. The Boatshed is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years due to the lack of formal facilities and room layouts.
The three Boatsheds have a nostalgic beach hut feel with comfy seating areas, open fires, louvered shutters and private decks with teak loungers. The three-storey Lighthouse is unique and romantic with a spiral staircase, separate room on each floor, whitewashed wooden bedroom and top floor day room with great views. The Bridge is high overlooking the beach and has a traditional porch and elegant furnishings. The two Bungalows have plenty of indoor living space and personify relaxed beach living, with a nod to the traditional kiwi ‘batch’ seaside holiday home. All feature: air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, mini bar, beach gear, TV, DVD and CD player, Bose iPod dock, magazine/book/CD selections and Wi-Fi.

Boatshed
The three Boatsheds all have a nostalgic beach hut atmosphere. Open up the louvered shutters and enjoy the sea breezes from teak sun loungers on the private deck. As the evening falls, move inside and light fire, pour a glass of wine and relax.

Lighthouse
Spiral up the three storey tower, past the whitewashed wooden bedroom to the day room at the top, fold back the glass doors and open the room up, to watch the boats arrive and depart from the bay, like the lighthouse keeper might. The room has a service lift for private meal service. It is the ideal honeymoon or special occasion suite, for the romantic.

Bridge
Elegantly appointed, and overlooking the beach, perch on the traditional porch and open the louvre to the sea breezes, as the boats bob in the bay and sunset streams in, an ideal spot to relax.

Bungalow
Just the word bungalow conjures up images of relaxed beach living. These substantial suites bring a totally new offering to the island. The classic Waiheke bach reinvented.

The Water Tower
A Modern Zinc Clad 3 story tower, with large open north, west and south facing sea views – contemporary roof garden with bath for two, day room and butler’s kitchen.

The Owners Cottage
This addition brings something completely new to our current offering, a beautiful, private “villa” for those looking for space and comfort that do not want to sacrifice full hotel service. North facing with intimate bay and ocean views.
Fresh, organic food is served at The Boatshed, some grown in its own gardens, all served with the best New Zealand wines in alfresco style. The long white sandy beach is a 3-minute walk and Oneroa, the local village just a 5-minute walk with cafes, galleries, bike and scooter hire.
