Situated in one of the most vibrant and culturally rich areas of Oslo, all that the city has to offer is only a stone’s throw away. Nearby must-sees include the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, Oslo Spektrum, Ekebergparken, Akershus Fortress, Astrup Fearnley, The Royal Castle, and so much more.
Our 122 rooms and suites are designed for the modern explorer. The rooms reflect Amerikalinjen’s identity, with an eclectic mix of modern comfort, Norwegian design classics and a rich history.

Standard Room
There is nothing standard about THE THIEF, not even our Standard rooms. The same high quality runs throughout the hotel: The comfort, the efficiency and the cleverly thought out layout of the rooms. We are sure you will enjoy the bedside light control, the balcony, the creative selection in our in-room shop, the full body mirrors by the door – or our little prank of having an extra pillow in the closet even though there are already nine pillows on the bed.

Superior Room
Our 30 square meter superior rooms have the same sleek wooden floors and the floor-to-ceiling windows of our standard rooms. They are just a little more spacious. Sometimes a little extra leg-room is just what you need to fully enjoy your hideaway on our little island in the city.

Deluxe Room
Wake up to soothing views of the Oslo archipelago and the beautiful fjord. The stunning sea vistas from a private balcony could make you reluctant to ever leave your room. Should you decide to stay holed up in your little paradise, we’d be happy, of course, to bring your breakfast to your room.

Premium Room
Wake up to the stunning view of the Oslofjord. Enjoy your morning coffee on the balcony as boats and ships pass by the Astrup Fearnley museum. Our Premium rooms offer the best of all the room categories: enticing design, smart solutions and sense of space. And the views really do justice to the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Junior Suite
Enjoy a different and stimulating hotel experience in this suite filled with video art, music, disco textiles and art installations signed by A-ha’s Magne Furuholmen and his Apparatjik supergroup. It also has a separate bedroom and views to the beautiful Oslofjord.

The Brit Suite
The Brit suite is a celebration of British design, art and culture. The rooms are inspired by the Swinging ‘60s with a contemporary luxury feel designed by Conran Interiors and Norway’s Eske. Add that to a relaxing canal view and you’re in for a splendid stay.

The Broom Suite
Named after and furnished by Lee Broom, an award-winning British designer, the Broom suite as-sures a comfortable and stylish stay. Separate bedroom, two bathrooms and canal view.

The Thief Suite
The spacious signature Thief suite on the 8th floor is a true haven. It features two balconies facing the beautiful Oslofjord as well as the canals of Tjuvholmen. It also features two bathrooms and the possibility for an extension of two bedrooms.

The Oslo Suite
Our largest penthouse suite boasts a private rooftop terrace overlooking the Oslofjord. This is 94 square meters of pure delight. It includes a separate bedroom, a dining room and original artworks by Sir Peter Blake to give the Oslo Suite the feel of an exclusive private apartment, but with our hotel service staff to top it off.
Explore our menus or embark on a voyage of discovery. Start with breakfast in our green, covered courtyard before going on to the café, the cocktail bar or the brasserie. Whether you want a snack, something to drink or a full meal, you will always feel at home.

Atlas Brasserie
The brasserie serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Drop in or book a table in our lovely brasserie. We also have tables in Amerikalinjen’s covered courtyard, Haven. In the spring and summer season, there is table service outside at street level.

Haven
All explorers need a break. Our green oasis offers a break from the hectic life of the city. In the heart of the hotel lies our covered courtyard. Fresh, green plants and original yellow tiles on the walls create a continental atmosphere.

Pier 42
Named after iconic Pier 42 in New York this bar is designed to blend the heritage of Amerikalinjen’s cocktail culture with an unparalleled drinks menu reflecting the modern day explorer. Center of attention is the cocktail program “Decades of our history” which is inspired by significant events that took place between 1919-2019 in both Norway and America. Pier 42 in Manhattan was the passengers’ first encounter with New York and the new life “over there”. You too can meet new people and start new stories at Pier 42.

Gustav
Our intimate club is inspired by New York’s jazz scene. The club has its own entrance and is located in the basement of Amerikalinjen. With a stage, state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, a kitchen and dining facilities, Gustav can accommodate many types of events and arrangements.
The club is named after Gustav Henriksen, the founder of Amerikalinjen. In the years prior to the opening of the Norwegian American Line he was met with huge resistance, but Gustav knew that people wanted to explore, and in 1913 the first ship left the dock. His work was the start of a 60-year long adventure – for all the thousands of people who emigrated, for Amerikalinjen and for Norway. Let yourself be inspired! The club reflects Gustav’s playful, New York and jazzy side. Come join us for Friday night jazz sessions and experience smoky tunes and an electric atmosphere: you will always feel welcome!

Atlas Café
Our green deli café, where people in motion, both local and travelers, fuel up for their journey ahead. Filled with lushfull greens, fresh bagels from our very own bakery, colorful smoothies and overnight steelcut oatmeal.
Facilities include a 24-hour gym, a wellness area with Finnish sauna and great running routes straight from the hotel.

Wellness
THIEF SPA has brought together the very best of spa cultures from across the world. In an intimate atmosphere inspired by Norwegian nature – slate, moss, sea and Nordic light – we recreate rituals from the Turkish hammam, Moroccan rhassoul and German aufguss. Using a fantastic range of products, we have put together a rich spa menu for healthy skin, a new glow and pure pleasure.

Gym
Only accessible to hotel guests and members. Free access for hotel guests 24 hours a day. Members have access during regular opening hours.
