Superior Room

Superior 1897 Room
The stately 25 sqm Superior 1897 rooms, many of which have classically high-ceilings, are placed in the historic part of the Hotel from year 1897. All of the rooms are perfectly designed with nice, luxury details and provided with fresh cut flowers at the arriving day. The room has a turn-down service, comfortable beds from Hästens and linen, pillows and duvets from Høie that makes sure you easily fall into sleep.

Deluxe 1897 Room
Britannia is a historic hotel in Norway, and the spacious 28 sqm Deluxe 1897 rooms are located in the hotel’s historic wing from1897. Many of the rooms have classically high-ceilings, and they are all fitted with luxury touches and a collection of curiosities and technological conveniences. Fresh cut flowers will be in your room on arrival and turn-down service is available as standard. With the bed provided by Hästens, 100% cotton linen and down duvets and pillows from Høie, everything is in place to ensure a good night’s sleep.
The Deluxe 1897 room is the perfect room for those looking for a little extra space during their stay (some rooms can also accommodate an extra bed if desired). Speilsalen
A Michelin Star theatre of modern gastronomy within a luxurious, mirrored dining room. Speilsalen (the ‘Mirror Hall’) has for generations been a room of countless conversations and fine dining in Trondheim. Today, the space is hosted by World Champion Chef and Bocuse d`Or silver medalist 2017 Christopher Davidsen. His first signature restaurant, Speilsalen at Britannia Hotel, will mirror the spectacles of the past and entice food enthusiasts from around the world, with ground-breaking cuisine. Here you will experience fine dining at the very best! Christopher presents a culinary journey unlike any other, with a focus on perfecting the elements of surprise. At Speilsalen, the finest handpicked Norwegian produce is prepared with the utmost care and respect; no detail is overlooked, and taste is the foremost goal of every effort. To complement Davidsen’s creations, the four-time Norwegian wine sommelier champion Henrik Dahl Jahnsen is in charge of wine and other beverage pairings.
Guests can choose to sit in front of the action at the Chef’s table (suitable for parties of 1 to 4 people), at a round table (4 to 6 people) or in one of the two elegant chambre séparée (up to 8 or 12 people respectively).

In order to establish the collection, Britannia scoured producers from all over the world, acquiring bottles not on the market anywhere else and securing exclusive vintages. Vinbaren has an excellent selection of French, Spanish and Italian wines, and an even more impressive array from other wine-producing countries like Portugal, Lebanon, USA, South Africa et al. The Vinbaren team has acquired wines from legendary names and also hosts wine tasting masterclasses with visiting world-famous producers, as well as regular jazz and tasting events.

Britannia Bar
Timeless, sophisticated and elegant – yet comfortable and social. A new standard when it comes to cocktails, classic drinks, lunches and evening bites. Serving the classics to perfection, alongside an amazing array of signature cocktails, Britannia Bar reflects the history of Trondheim and the hotel. Head Bartender at Britannia Bar, Øyvind Lindgjerdet, has created a series of signature cocktails inspired by stories as weird and wonderful as government approved piracy during the Napoleonic Gunboat Wars, the role of fish in bringing an end to Norwegian prohibition and the influence of a teetotal highway patrol officer named Leif Olsen.

Britannia’s iconic dining hall, dating back to 1918. Restored to its original splendour, the perfect breakfast, lunch and banquet venue. A lush and exotic oasis of international flavours, art and culture from all over the world. Palmehaven is an institution in Trondheim, a venue for culinary and cultural events, where atmosphere meets tradition. During the weekdays you can indulge in Trondheim’s most exotic lunch, surrounded by leafy green palms.
Palmehaven also is the location for the hotel’s breakfast, where guests can enjoy a beautifully presented buffet, with meats and cheeses from award-winning Norwegian producers, alongside delightful day-starters such as the açai berry bowl, with granola and fruits. Gym
In our 200 m² fitness room you will find top-of-the-range, modern training facilities. We have a wide range of exercise equipment in addition to free weights, squat racks and other equipment for functional training. If you want a cardio workout you can choose between a range of treadmills, spinning bikes, crosstraining machines and rowing machines. Personal training in groups – each week there will be several workouts in smaller groups with one of our personal trainers as an instructor. The group workouts are variated, dynamic and adapted to the needs of the group. Please contact the reception for registration. It is also possible to get a personal trainer for yourself that will help you to boost your workout a little extra and set the right goals.
