ACTIVITIES:
The Sabi Sands is widely regarded as one of the most rewarding regions for spotting leopard in Africa. With good populations and the ability to go on night game-drives which coincides when these big cats are most active, all you need is good timing!

Set in the famous Sabi Sand Game Reserve, Simbambili is a sophisticated lodge which impresses with its incredible game viewing opportunities. Managed with warmth and passion, Simbambili offers a down-to-earth yet luxurious bush experience where the world-class wildlife encounters, expert rangers, extensive private decks and welcoming atmosphere results in bucket-list experiences. We recently renovated the suites, which have been elegantly designed to blend in with the dense stands of knobthorn and jackalberry trees along the meandering Manyeleti River. Massive decks and the shaded sala beds are a guest favourite. We’re also extremely proud of our guides and trackers whose wealth of knowledge and passionate for what they do, continuously leave lasting impressions. At the lodge, our guests are made to feel at home through the personal touches and calming nature of the setting, with many an hour spent on the main deck keeping an eye on the large waterhole and its ever-changing visitors just below.
All of the nine spacious suites face the riverbed and woodlands, each with its own private plunge pool, sala bed on the deck and a free-standing bath, with the Waterhole Suite overlooking the waterhole. The large thatched suites have been elegantly designed to blend in with the environment and carefully positioned to enhance privacy. While the shower, free-standing bath, his and her sinks and modern finishings are impressive, it’s the outside deck our guests love most. Each suite has its own spacious riverbed-facing deck with a plunge pool and sala bed under shade to laze away a perfect afternoon. The Sabi Sand is a private game reserve pioneered by local landowners in the 1950s that shares a fenceless border with the Kruger National Park. The reserve is home to great numbers of well-habituated wildlife resulting in close encounters, particularly with elusive leopards, which the Sabi Sand has become world-famous for. Roaming packs of wild dogs, territorial lions and large herds of elephants are also signature sightings in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. The relative abundance of water in an otherwise dry area is the secret to the area’s rich biodiversity.

Suites
The large thatched suites have been elegantly designed to blend in with the environment and carefully positioned to enhance privacy. While the shower, free-standing bath, his and her sinks and modern finishings are impressive, it’s the outside deck our guests love most. Each suite has its own spacious riverbed-facing deck with a plunge pool and sala bed under shade to laze away a perfect afternoon.

Honeymoon Suites
There’s one Honeymoon Suite and one Waterhole Suite at Simbambili, both perfect for honeymooners and lying on the far ends of the lodge to ensure even more privacy.
These romantic suites are slightly larger and come with added amenities. They have a shower, free-standing bath, his and her sinks and modern finishings as the other suites, but come with an added lounge area for more space.
The outside deck, however, is still what our honeymooners love most. The extensive bush-facing deck, with a plunge pool and shaded sala bed, is the perfect place to spend a hot afternoon in the sun.

Royal Suite
The Royal Suite is setup to cater for small groups or families as it combines two suites and has even more space to enjoy private dinners in different areas.
As with the other suites, the expansive outside decks were purposefully built below tall trees to ensure shade and have a private swimming pool and outdoor shower.
The bathrooms feature floor-to-ceiling glass doors bringing the senses to life, while you soak in the bathtub. The Royal Suite also comes with lounge areas and fireplaces.

Kingston Treehouse
Make your way through rows of magnificent white boulders and across a small drawbridge, and you will find Africa opening up in front if you. Set amid the pure and untouched wild, you will be surrounded by African bush and uninhibited wildlife at its best. The Kingston Treehouse is constructed entirely from wood and glass, with contemporary décor in understated hues of greys, white, black and purple. No matter what the weather has in store, you will have a safe and luxurious setting with a unique window to enjoy the ever-changing views. In fact, we defy you to find two identical African sunsets. The 60m2 Treehouse is situated about 5 minutes from the main lodge, and you will have radio contact with the rangers, should you choose to. You will also find some cellphone reception; but don’t expect any wi-fi in the bush. Kingston is equipped with full bathroom and shower facilities, and Africology products to complete your sensory experience. Before a dinner of tapas or a full meal with Champagne, enjoy an hour-long massage under the stars to relax and become quiet with the nature around you. A yoga mat and chart are also provided for your use, should the whim strike you.
Enjoy uniquely African dishes with a gourmand twist from the lodge’s celebrated kitchen. Delicious local delicacies include zebra and black cherry potjie, and crocodile kebabs with a lemon-butter and apricot sauce. Dine in the intimate River Lounge and the authentic open-air Boma, or allow the staff to prepare a secluded haven for you in wilderness to feast beneath the stars.
