ACTIVITIES:
It doesn’t get more Swiss than a mountain hike, however, a day’s walking in the mountains doesn’t have to be steep and difficult. We are lucky to have a stream that runs across the middle of the mountain called ‘the Bisse’.
A fleet of ‘Arapaho’ mountain Scooters is kept by Télé-Verbier, the lift operators, and you can do a lap from the top of Ruinettes down to Médran which is a short walk from The Lodge. The run takes 20 minutes on average.
Why not take to the sky and see the spectacular sites of Verbier from the air? Take a tandem flight where you can sit back and enjoy the experience, or take a course and go solo. If you would like to book a flight please let the team know and we will arrange this for you.
There are many rock-climbing areas in the Bagnes Valley, suitable for beginners and advanced climbers. These include Pierre Avoi, La Barme, Madzeria (near Mauvoisin), Sembrancher and La Fouly. The staff at The Lodge will be more than happy to arrange climbing excursions for you.
Verbier is home to the legendary Grand Raid Cristalp, stages of the Tour de Suisse and the Swiss downhill championships. With hundreds of kilometres of biking trails ranging in terrain and gradient there is something for every level of mountain biker.
Whether you’re looking for group or individual lessons, our tennis coach can prepare a tennis programme for any skill level, and we will have racquets and balls to lend to guests.
You’re really spoiled for choice when it comes to golf courses in the area, and most of the courses are within one hour’s drive from the lodge.
For families, or adventurous couples who are in the region for a longer stay, we would recommend hiring a car at Geneva airport, and making the most of the Valais area. Driving in Switzerland is very easy, and the freeways are very well maintained, with little traffic. Having your own car allows you the freedom to experience the following days away from the village.
For the avid skier or snowboarder Verbier is paradise. There are five resorts spread across four valleys, all of which are tied into one single lift pass, offering you one of the largest skiable areas in the Alps – for all levels of skiers.
For the advanced skiers in your party we can organise heli-skiing trips. This is definitely a way to get the adrenaline pumping and get away from the crowds! Your guide will meet you on the morning at The Lodge and discuss the plan and route. It could be a descent all the way from the top of Petit Combin to Fionnay, covering over 2,400m of vertical, or a couple of drops on the Glacier de Trient.
At The Lodge we’ve designed a skiing experience where the hassle factor has been edited out. If queuing in a busy ski shop isn’t your style, you’ll love that we bring the gear to you and we’ll even drive you to the lift station. There’s even a boot room in the chalet with heated boot warmers to keep your feet extra toasty.
If you can walk, you can go snowshoeing. It’s easy to do, it doesn’t require a lot of special techniques, and the fun begins as soon as you put the snowshoes on! You can choose between a casual hike through the woods or a steep climb up the mountain.
Why not take to the sky and see the spectacular sites of The Matterhorn in one direction and Mont Blanc in the other? Take a tandem flight where you can sit back and enjoy the experience.
Learn how to get the most out of your skis. Experience the g-forces of carving. Be inspired to experiment on the piste and enjoy the corduroy like never before!.
In our mogul clinic we’ll teach you the knowledge and skills needed for the bumps whilst on-piste, and then we’ll apply them in the bumps, allowing you to tackle mogul slopes with confidence and control.
There is also the opportunity to see yourself on video and receive in-depth analysis on your performance. We will sit down in front of the big screen with a warm hot chocolate or cold beer and talk you through the day’s exercises and give personal feedback from the footage.
For you thrill seekers out there looking to go beyond the normal ski trip, we can arrange heli-skiing, ski touring, ice climbing or day trips to Chamonix to ski the Vallée Blanche, or why not do a trip to Italy to ski over for lunch? Guides can be booked on arrival for these adventure trips and will be weather dependant.

The thermal baths are a magnificent, internationally acclaimed architectural masterpiece created by Peter Zumthor. Made from 60,000 slabs of Vals quartzite, the thermal baths were classified as a listed building shortly after completion. The unique atmosphere and the highly mineralised water that comes out of St. Peter’s spring at a pleasant 30° Celsius makes the time you spend in the baths a deeply relaxing experience. Especially if you treat yourself to a revitalising ESPA treatment at our spa.
