Unique and elegant, the legendary hotel is reborn, after several months of an ambitious undertaking nurtured by the creativity of Philippe Starck and La Réserve’s vision of excellence. La Réserve Eden au Lac Zurich is a majestic building standing proud, serene, solid and calm like the wonderful days that have passed since it first opened on the lakeshore 100 years ago. Times are changing and Philippe Starck has come along with a subtly artistic and rebellious touch. He has in fact deconstructed Eden au Lac to better rebuild it for tomorrow, even closer to its true nature. From the 40 rooms and suites, to the restaurant and the bar, everything has been redesigned to offer guests a refined and timeless experience, true to La Réserve’s values of excellence, authenticity and simplicity.

The atmosphere of the 40 suites and rooms offers a palette of light tones, ranging from white to ivory amd from cream to light gray, highlighted by touches of Jatoba wood in mahogany tones, evoking the precious woodwork of boats. From furniture to lighting, everything has been designed by Philippe Starck. Three-quarters of the rooms have a view of the lake, which can be admired at leisure from the bed in the center of the room, but also from the bathtub, which sits in the huge bathroom.
Deluxe City Room
The spirit of a luxury yacht club is once again all pervasive, reflected in the countless details carefully thought out by Philippe Starck to create a decor in harmony with the location. Right from first glance, one has a sense of being transported elsewhere. The regatta photos lining the corridors inspire ideas of escapism, the postcards adorning the small desk make you wish to commit your personal travel impressions to paper. 30 – 34 sqm.
Lake View Room
Most of these rooms are located in the center of the building, with a direct view of the lake. Some of them nestle on the fifth floor and have the chance to be mansard-roofed, with a magnificent set of interior volumes. Woodwork, shiny metal, soft fabrics, pure and minimalist lines… The interior design recalls the luxury of transatlantic ships, combined with a spirit of contemporary design. 27 – 32 sqm.
The corner rooms benefit from a double exposure. Some offer lake views from their many windows. All the decorative elements and furniture have been designed by Philippe Starck and a sense of soft harmony pervades each room, punctuated by a few touches typical of the designer. 29 – 39 sqm.
Prestige Balcony Room
Facing south, these rooms have a private balcony from where you can see people strolling along the lakeside promenade, the green of the plane trees in summer, the white sails of the boats, the Alps in the distance… And why not take advantage of this magical view from the bed, judiciously placed in the center of the room. 34 – 39 sqm.
Premier Terrace Room
All located on the first floor, these rooms enjoy the privilege of having a terrace lined with stone colonnades and original stone statues. The interior decoration expresses Philippe Starck’s creative aesthetic choices: transparency of the fluted glass partitions between the spaces, mahogany-colored wood and shiny metal, thick wool carpets and finesse of the white net curtains, rigorous straight lines and generous curves. 28 – 39 sqm.
Lake View Suite
This unique magnificent corner suite, 59 sqm, dominates the surroundings from the fifth floor. On the south side, it has several private balconies with antique wrought iron railings. The interior design highlights the large attic spaces with curved windows that give it an irresistible touch of poetry.
On the third floor, the two Eden Suites (75 – 79 sqm) occupy the south-east and south-west wings. With five openings to the outside, including four charming ironwork balconies, they are bathed in light at all hours of the day. The vast lounge area overlooks the lake on the south side and allows you to admire the boats and the Alps in the distance.
A bar restaurant adjoining the lobby, a smoking lounge with a treasure cellar and a rooftop restaurant… La Réserve Eden au Lac is changing the culinary scene in Zurich. Exclusivity merges with a cuisine meant for sharing, as refinement blends with informality to invent a new way of enjoying life more intensely than ever This means no more fixed schedules, with service provided all day long from 11:30 am to midnight, at the bar as well as in the restaurants: Eden Kitchen & Bar on the ground floor and La Muña on the rooftop.
Eden Kitchen & Bar
On the ground floor, with its large bay windows opening onto the outside, Eden Kitchen & Bar promises to be an essential meeting point in Zurich. Light plays on the natural leather sofas and tables, gently tinted by the multicolored stained-glass window created by the artist Ara Starck. Light-colored floors, red wood and boat oars and hulls are just some of the design cues that create a warm and relaxed atmosphere and serve as reminders of the hotel’s attachment to the lake. The large open kitchen stages a non-stop show, in which everyone can admire the expert touch and creativity of the teams headed by Italian chef Marco Ortolani, veteran of prestigious restaurants in Italy and London, not to mention experience gained in Argentina and Hong Kong.
Perched on the sixth floor and accessible directly via the glass elevator in the lobby, La Muña serves an eclectic though principally Peruvian-Japanese menu and overlooks the city from its tree-lined roof terrace. La Réserve Eden au Lac Zurich’s second restaurant is a treasure chest, mingling imaginary memories of moments spent on the lake with extraordinary objects found in the city and around the world. La Muña offers a unique 360° view of the historic center, with the lake and the Alps in the distance.
