The Gstaad Yacht Club, a private members club, was founded in 1998 by a group of sailor enthusiasts with the vision to “create a unique global yacht club away from the waters, instead of another local club by the waters”. With its club facilities based in the Swiss mountains and in the beginning, very often acknowledged with surprise, the GYC developed to a club with over 400 members from more than 30 different countries and to a place where members and their guests love to meet. Members enjoy a unique network, year-round activities in the clubhouse and on the waters. The GYC supports sailing projects on all levels from juniors to professional sailors and it has become a solid force on the Swiss sailing scene and especially among Olympic sailing and the classic yachts.
Step up to the mallet and indulge your love of the curious and the unusual with like-minded lovers of croquet at Le Grand Bellevue. Taking place throughout the year, members can enjoy quirky occasions such as the Curious Cucumber Challenge Cup in early September, as well as regular Afternoon Teas filled with scones, fresh sandwiches and perfectly mixed Gin & Tonics that are sure to help you “shoot straight”.

In the heart of Gstaad village, luxe boutique hotel Le Grand Bellevue was originally built in 1912 as a Cure House and Spa. Family-owned & managed, the hotel comprises 57 sumptuous guestrooms with bold colours, eye-catching prints and elegant furniture. The 57 rooms and nine suites are spacious, light-filled and well made. A base of neutrals composes a calm mood, while pops of claret, caramel or gold play out in plaid cushions, houndstooth curtains and designer lamps. Leather George Smith armchairs and clawfoot units contribute luxury, with interest added in some spaces by wood beams. Rooms are not entirely soundproof, but the beds are so ludicrously comfortable it would be hard not to sleep well. Room 103 has a huge terrace, but the loveliest are 107 and 108: located in the tower, they feel light and open with their round walls.
Stylish, secluded hideaways and turreted tower rooms. Cosy chalet-style suites with rustic wooden beams. Lavish split-level spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows, where you can gaze out over Gstaad and the staggering beauty of the Alpine region to the sweeping majesty of the mountains beyond. Suite Chalet
Step into your own chalet-style retreat. With rustic wooden beams and floors, these two suites—found in the chalet buildings connected to the main hotel—are as cosy as can be. Curl up in front of the authentic grand open fireplace that divides the bedroom and dressing room from the sitting and dining areas, and listen to the crackle of the flames as you enjoy a good book or a drink from the complimentary minibar. For a breath of fresh air, head out onto one of your own private terraces to enjoy panoramic views of the spectacular Alpine region.

Suite Panorama
Sleep beneath 100-year-old wooden beams and dream of Alpine wildflower meadows in this opulent duplex suite. Enjoy your private office in the upper level, recline with a good book in the downstairs living area and get ready in your spacious dressing room for a night in our glamorous bars and restaurants. Look out over stunning panoramic vistas that stretch from Gstaad village all the way to Glacier 3000, and take a moment to just be still and breathe the fresh Alpine air.

Suite Le Grand Bellevue
The hotel’s most prestigious suite, this astonishing space is a true expression of lavish, luxurious Swiss living. Take in panoramic valley views in glorious widescreen through floor-to-ceiling windows and let your worries fade away with the bubbles in your private Jacuzzi. Spread across two floors and 180 square metres, glide from room to room, enjoying the flawlessly decorated living, dining and dressing areas, as well as two bathrooms. When you finally decide it is time to sleep, retreat to your king-size bed and awake to spectacular Alpine scenes while still curled up under the sheets.

Your table awaits.

The Bar
Where the heart beats and vintage melodies transcend time, The Bar sets a warm and vibrant tone as patrons sip on whimsical pleasures, and award winning burgers and club sandwiches appear aplenty. The zinc-topped bar and 17.5-metre-long chesterfield sofa host from morning to late night, be it for fresh pastries, bubbles or our bartender’s exquisite cocktails. This is where it all happens.

Garden Lounge
Feel the sun on your face as you step out onto our terrace to enjoy your aperitif in the Garden Lounge. Gaze out across the gardens, looking to the mountains beyond, and order a round of drinks for you and your friends. Sip a fresh lemon balm iced tea or the espresso-laced Le Grand Favori. Sample unique artisanal ice-cream from the Gstaad Saanenland region in a range of flavours from Fior di Latte to Caramel and Fleur de Sel.

The Lounge
Pick a book from our curated library and curl up in a soft velvet armchair in The Lounge to read, relax and listen to the birds chirping outside in the beautiful summer weather. Order from the Afternoon Tea menu and treat yourself to something delicious to complete the experience, from deeply rich hot chocolate cocktails and a range of black and herbal fruit tea infusions, to freshly baked scones with clotted cream and handmade salmon sandwiches.

Le Petit Chalet
Stroll through the gardens of Le Grand Bellevue and you will soon come across our mountain log cabin, Le Petit Chalet. This intimate restaurant seats just 18 people (24 privately) and specialises in traditional Swiss cuisine, such as truffle fondue, goat cheese fondue, and raclette. Open year-round, Le Petit Chalet is set back beneath the tall trees, offering a cosy retreat in the winter, and an open-air terrace and chicken rotisserie during the summer.

The Sushi Bar
Step away from the Alps as you glide into the authentic surrounds of our Japanese Sushi Bar, where Sushi Master Takehiko Yoshikawa crafts superlative dishes, from red tuna sashimi and yellowtail nigiri to crab and avocado hand rolls and eel hosomaki sushi, alongside a menu of Japanese salads, soups and rice. For added decadence, order to take away and enjoy your fresh handmade sushi from the comfort of your room after a day of hiking in the alps, or a treatment in Le Grand Spa.

Wine Cellar

Let our Head Sommelier guide you through our list, navigating over 9,000 bottles—including many fine wines and sought-after vintages—through themed tastings and special tailored events, both for business and pleasure.
The hotel has an excellent range of facilities. There is a cinema, mountain bike hire, car tours in a 1963 Bentley that once belonged to Roger Moore, and a boutique, but the showpiece is the 3,000m2 subterranean Le Grand Spa. A serene haven of wood and neutrals, where petals float atop sunken pools and wicker egg chairs hang, it has a large indoor pool and hot tub, a Thermal Oasis with 17 heat therapy experiences, a well-equipped gym including SensoPro physio trainer, and daily yoga and pilates classes – held on the lawn in fine weather. Treatments include everything from bespoke massages with organic Bamford products to three-hour couple’s extravaganzas and botox by Geneva clinic Rive Gauche.
Enjoy all that Le Grand Bellevue and Gstaad have to offer, from sensational outdoor activities and parks filled with ancient trees, to family fun in our Cinema and Children’s Playroom. Let us challenge your perception of business events in our state-of-the-art meeting rooms, help you master the art of floristry, or simply show you to our Boutique, where you can browse a curated collection of home, fashion and beauty products. Whether you want to play tennis on the Swiss Open centre court, take a chauffeur-driven tour in a vintage Bentley, or select a classic Cuban cigar from our humidor and enjoy a sophisticated evening in our Cigar Lounge, we have the facilities to make it happen.
