Experienced guides encourage guests to see and experience the Serengeti through their eyes, sharing a world of small and large wonders that only they truly know and understand. Guests can arrange full days in the bush with picnic lunches or shorter excursions returning to enjoy the tranquility of camp.
Cultural visits are available when Kimondo is in the north of the Serengeti (July – November). Guests can visit a local Kuria village and learn more about this ancient culture.
Soar over the Serengeti’s savannah plains in a hot air balloon at dawn, watching wildlife beneath you & finishing with a champagne bush breakfast.
One of Africa’s most iconic moments – the migration of two million wildebeest, zebras and gazelles around the Serengeti-Maasai Mara ecosystem.

Kimondo Camp is a luxurious semi mobile safari camp located in the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. The camp has eight tents and is moved seasonally to offer a front row seat for viewing wildlife and to witness the great wildebeest migration.Kimondo Camp, formally known as Olakira, is a luxury semi mobile tented camp, that offers guest a truly authentic safari experience whilst being as close as possible to the wildlife. The camp is based in two locations in order to take advantage of two of the most spectacular events within the wildebeest migration: a river crossing and the birthing season.
Between June and November the camp is located in the northern Serengeti offering guests exclusive access to the untouched Bolongonja area. The most striking factor of this camp however is its proximity to the Mara River enabling guests to witness the journey of 1.5 million wildebeest crossing the river whilst dodging the jaws of crocodiles.
Each of the eight tented rooms are en-suite with king sized beds and a private veranda with views stretching over the vast plains of the Serengeti. 2 of the tents can be turned into triples. All of them have en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets.

Guest Tent - 2 pax
Kimondo Camp has nine large, newly redesigned landscape guest tents with fantastic views. The tents all feature king-sized beds, en-suite bathrooms with flushable toilet and bucket shower, as well as an outdoor double shower. Hot water is always readily available for guest comfort. The tents have the option of being twins and doubles. There are two triple rooms available on request.
The communal lounge and dining areas at Kimondo Camp occupy one tent apiece, usually rigged up at the centre of the site. These too show Moroccan influences, with their vibrant rugs and copper lanterns. In the lounge tent, wood-framed well-cushioned seating and some stripy pouffes are positioned around explorer’s chests, and there are a few books and games for guests to enjoy.

Dining Tent
This tent is open fronted and open sided, so you’ll have wonderful views while you relax and tuck in to a tea or coffee from the self-serve cabinet. You can also marvel at the savanna scenery from the dining tent, which is the setting for delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Both full English and continental dishes are offered as part of the camp’s breakfast buffet each morning, while buffet lunches feature mouth-wateringly fresh salads. Come evening, everyone eats the three-course dinner together, after drinks around the camp’s fire-pit. Kitchen staff are happy to accommodate all special diets.
Kimondo Migration Camp has just eight elegant and airy tents, each with a king-sized cast-iron bed, en-suite bathroom and private veranda. This mobile safari camp offers a truly intimate Big Five adventure in vintage East African style and comfort./p>
