Rooms at Shangri-La at the Shard are the utmost in comfort and luxury, and feel like a true home away from home thanks to the wonderful service and hospitality for which Shangri-La is renowned. Due to the structure of the Shard each room is unique, but all have an urban, contemporary design. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed, and the floor-to-ceiling windows provide each with unparalleled views of London. Within the hotel, Ting Restaurant and Lounge serve classic Asian dishes, as well as unique and innovative European dishes with an Asian influence.
There’s a total of 202 rooms, including 17 suites, all with floor-to-ceiling windows. Five categories of room range from Superior Shard to Iconic City View, categorised by view rather than size, and there are six kinds of suite. If you’ve been lured in by those fabulous pictures of freestanding bathtubs with views, be sure to specify when booking. Even the smallest rooms have seating areas, no mean feat in a building this shape. Smudge-effect blue carpets bring the sky inside, and contrast the beige of upholstery and fabrics elsewhere. Deliciously comfortable beds rest in front of cherry blossom-embossed accent walls. Marble bathrooms have heated floors, mirror/televisions and L’Occitane toiletries. Expect such luxuries as high thread-count linen, a pillow menu and Nespresso machines, plus thoughtful touches including binoculars and sound docking systems. The most spectacular suites, Westminster, London, and Shangri-La, have ample space for relaxing and entertaining, as well as walk-in wardrobes and telescopes, and are serviced by butlers.

Iconic Shard Suite
These one-bedroom suites showcase panoramic views of London’s iconic landmarks. The living room is tailor-made for entertaining or for an intimate business gathering with a sofa, chair, coffee table and executive desk.

Southwark Suite
Located on Level 36, this unique one-bedroom suite looks west to some of London’s iconic landmarks. The living room is designed for relaxation with an L-shaped sofa and a casual dining table for two. The bedroom features its own sofa, lounge chair and executive desk, in addition to the graceful en suite marble bathroom.

Westminster Suite
Located on Level 37, this expansive one-bedroom suite provides floor-to-ceiling views of central London. It is a luxurious haven of contemporary style, with intricate detail throughout. Westminster Suite guests may enjoy the services of a personal butler.

London Suite
Located on the 38th floor, the London Suite offers exceptionally spacious and luxurious accommodation, with contemporary furnishings enhanced by elegant Asian accents, and a personal butler service.

Shangri La Suite
Luxury Shangri-La suite with en-suite bathroom and dressing room, separate living room with dining area, office space, guest washroom and kitchenette. As one of the largest suites in London, it can also be connected to an adjacent room, thus featuring two bedrooms and spanning a total living space of 232 square metres.
Get the night started in style at Gong, on the 52nd floor, which offers an impressive rotating menu of themed cocktails – when I visited, a new series called Director’s Cut had just launched, including an exciting whisky, sherry, bergamot and liquid smoke concoction called Bulletproof, inspired by Francis Ford Coppola. You can have afternoon tea here too, as well as downstairs in Ting lounge (also good for reclining in with a nightcap after dinner at the adjoining restaurant). Tea recommendations are great if you like surprises, and there’s an Asian afternoon tea available too, with spring rolls instead of sandwiches etc, if you fancy a change from the usual. Ting restaurant, with a grand piano at its centre, is a destination restaurant in itself.

Tīng Restaurant
TĪNG restaurant features an elegant and contemporary setting of Chinoiserie design, and presents a modern British menu with subtle Asian influences, featuring dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Views overlook the River Thames, Tower Bridge, Maritime Greenwich, Canary Wharf and the historic counties of Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

Tīng Lounge
With pleasant London views and a subtly glamorous atmosphere, Ting lounge is a comfortably relaxed space in which to enjoy a light breakfast, classic English or Asian afternoon teas, or one of Shangri-La’s signature Asian dishes.

Bar 31
With a sense that life outside has been brought inside, Bar 31 is a great meeting place to unwind over a few drinks. We offer local craft beers on tap, such as Porter by Anspach & Hobday, located a stone’s throw away, along with a fantastic range of spirits and wines. Our tasty bites are sourced using fresh seasonal ingredients from Borough Market.

Gŏng
GŎNG, on Level 52, derives its name from ‘dougong’, a unique structural element of interlocking wooden brackets that is used in traditional Chinese architecture, and which is also featured in the bar. The dramatic backdrop of London’s skyline makes GŎNG a great place for sunset cocktails and late-night drinks.
The 52nd-floor infinity pool is a deepy calming space, with lounge areas to snuggle down in post-swim, and a pool boy who hands you heated towels and serves drinks. The pool itself is too small to swim properly in; it’s a shame there’s no hot tub to admire the views at a warmer temperature, and equally a sauna/steam room would be welcome additions, but space is obviously limited.

Pool
Discover the spectacular swimming pool of any London hotel. Our infinity-edge Sky Pool on Level 52 offers an exclusive oasis.

Spa
The Skypool offers an exclusive escape for hotel guests, who may also indulge in relaxing spa treatments, either in the comfort of their room or in one of the spa residences.

Fitness area
Take inspiration from dramatic London skyline views as you work out in our 24-hour gym on Level 52, near the Sky Pool. It features an array of modern cardio machines and weight-training equipment.
