Executive Chef John Williams joined The Ritz in 2004 and in October 2016 gained a Michelin Star for the first time, although the quality of his food has long reached that standard. “What makes me particularly proud” he says “is that the other grande dame London hotels that have stars for their restaurants are because of named, entrepreneurial chefs brought in to run them; they aren’t employees of the hotel, but I am, pure and simple, and proud to be”. His distinctive classical British dishes match their beautiful surrounding. Stand out dishes include langoustine with cauliflower and pickled onion, turbot with leeks, Oscietra caviar and champagne sauce and crêpes suzette, flambéed at the table. Head Sommelier Giovanni Ferlito’s wines – and his knowledge – complement the food.

The Ritz Restaurant
The Michelin-starred Ritz Restaurant is often described as the most beautiful dining room in the world. The finest of British ingredients are cooked using Escoffier-inspired classical recipes. The detail, presentation and service are second to none making it a truly memorable dining experience. Diners enjoy breath-taking views of The Royal Green Park Awarded: 1-Michelin Star.

The Palm Court
Afternoon Tea at The Ritz is a quintessential British experience. Enjoy a selection of 18 different types of loose leaf tea, finely cut sandwiches, freshly baked apple and raisin scones with strawberry preserve and clotted Devonshire cream, followed by a delectable selection of afternoon tea cakes and pastries.

The Rivoli Bar
The Rivoli Bar transports guests back to the glory days of 1920s Paris with its gilded glamour and timeless sophistication. The drinks menu features over 80 cocktails, including many of the signature martinis and Champagne cocktails for which The Ritz is renowned. The “Ritz 110”, which was created to celebrate the 110th anniversary of The Ritz London.

Private Dining
Fine dining does not get any better than our collection of private dining rooms designed to turn any occasion into the most unforgettable event. The hotel offers six private dining rooms, five of which are located in the impressive William Kent House, the elegant Grade II listed mansion adjoining the hotel. Retaining their original lavish Italian Renaissance style décor, this collection of stylish rooms is the perfect venue for birthdays, award celebrations, anniversaries, children’s parties, private dinners and other special occasions. Our private dining rooms are also ideal for holding business meetings.
From the doormen with their white gloves tucked into their epaulettes and the pair of bellhops who open the double doors to each arriving guest to the frock-coated flunkies, the white-coated barmen and the chambermaids in their pinnies and caps, staff are near faultless (though not perfect: expected help with bags was not forthcoming on arrival at the revolving front door). There are characters too. The old-school showmen-cum-concierges man their desk with bravado but always puts the guest first. Head concierge Michael de Cozar has held the job for 35 years; his father worked at The Ritz for 27 years and his brother also works there.
